Bread bins are a minefield. Plastic or metal, ventilation holes or not, bamboo cutting board for the lid, or a roller top. Most are too small. This one is not small. We home bake in a machine so it can easily hold two full sized loaves albeit with one on its end, but plenty of room. For reference the photo shows a whole loaf from our machine on the right hand side. If you put any bread away into any container warm, it will sweat and moisture will collect leading to mold down the line. So let it cool. This does keep bread fresh but if you home bake bread it won’t have the preservatives so after a day it’s best for toast. In conclusion; rustic looking, easy to clean, good size and keeps bread fresher than wrapping in foil!

This box came exactly as described. Unlike many bread boxes, this one was quite spacious which allowed us to modify it for our desired use as a sourdough starter incubator. It was easy to modify and turned out great, but still looks elegant and clean in the front which was important for having it sit out on the kitchen counter. Would definitely buy again if I needed to make another one, or to potentially store some of the bread we will bake in the future.

Ich war am Anfang skeptisch ob das Brot wirklich länger frisch bleibt. Aber jetzt nachdem wir die Box jetzt schon ein paar Monate benutzen, muss ich sagen, dass es tatsächlich so ist. Die Größe ist auch super.
