How long is the probe? Can it easily reach in the center of a big roast or a loaf of bread?

From the description on the Amazon website page....the probe is 2.8" long. I find that more than adequate to reach the center of most any cut of meat I cook.

I want to brew green teas (160-200F water typically). Can anyone verify how quickly and accurately it works in this range? Thanks!

these thermometers will typically work up to about 400 F, so if you want to check the temperature of cooking oil for frying, you can do that. Thermapens do, double check the specs on this.
