Petrify (Wired Up) Paperback – February 1, 2012

A good story will stay with you for weeks and a well written story will stay with you for years. After reading this story my son said, "Dad I will never forget that story".My 13 year old son has dyslexia and this book was recommended to me as being perfect for him. He has dreadfully low self esteem and finds reading a chore.After reading this book, himself, we have turned a corner. The sentence structure is short and language accessible which gave him a sense of achievement at each sitting. The story was gripping and I can attest to that as i read it myself!My son has googled Beth Chambers and is hoping that she will be writing more of these books and if someone had said that this would have happened 3 months ago I wouldn't have believed them.I know that it is only one book but I saw a real difference in my son. He has lent it to his friends and I have lent it to some of mine but I would recommend you buy a few copies for birthday gifts, although you'll want to keep one yourself!

I bought this book for my son after reading its review and wasn't disappointed. My son doesn't 'get' books and when he can be persuaded to read one hardly ever finishes it. He read Petrify in one sitting! I can totally recommend the book, although, be warned it's Very Scary!
