If I ordered 2 of these packs would I get the same characters or does each pack vary?

There are many different versions but all of the packs share the same barcode there good chances of getting different characters but is not a guarantee

To my knowlege it looks like the ones we have bought at target, but im not 100% sure.

Probably a little to babyish for an 8 year old boy. My 7 year old daughter has liked them for a few years and is starting to be bored with them. But, I only have girls so I'm not sure if it would appeal to an 8 yr old boy.
