Fluidmaster Universal Install/Uninstall Toilet Repair Tool

This tool made removing our leaking toilet tank and reinstalling the tank a breeze. Took the place of wrenches that would have been required. All the sizes we needed were on the tool. Just turn the tool and another size is available. This worked great for us let us keep working without switching and replacing wrench sizes. Recommend

This is a good tool to have works perfectly

For American Standard toilets that have recessed flush valve nuts, this tool is completely useless. The part of the tool that would fit the retaining nut is WAY too shallow to fit into that recess. I say almost because at least now I have an idea of what the nut size is so I can get a proper deep socket. UPDATE: Ok, now that I have calmed down, the American Standard Cadet 3 toilet that I have is not Fluidmaster's fault. The tool is probably fine for most standard, non-fancy toilets. I have simply been trying to avoid taking the tank off of the bowl, which is, according to American Standard customer service, required in order to replace the fill valve. Rating adjusted accordingly, apologies for the DIY homeowner rant above lol.

I needed to replace the Korky flush valve in my powder room toilet, and it sits in a corner. The lock nut on the bottom of the tank lived up to its name, it wouldn't budge. There wasn't enough room for me to leverage a wrench to get it off, and my fingers and hands aren't strong enough. This tool is compact and solid, and it took only 2 turns to loosen the lock nut enough to spin it off. The rest was a breeze. Every toolbox should have this. The price is right, and it works great.

I bought one of these hoping to use it to remove a stuck Delta toilet valve locknut that was admittedly in an impossibly tight place and it didn't work. Just couldn't get it in a position to get good leverage. What DID eventually work was using my oscillating tool to cut through the valve threading and the locknut itself and pry the locknut off. (I was replacing the valve anyway so I didn't care if I destroyed the threading.) It does seem like a great tool in a different situation! And before you @ me for using a Fluidmaster tool on a Delta product, several "experts" recommended the tool!

The fill valve in a 24-year old toilet failed, and needed to be replaced. Compounding the problem is the toilet was installed by the home builder very close to the left wall, so I didn’t have good access/space to work on the fill valve locknut on the bottom of the left side of the toilet tank. Tried pliers, adjustable pliers, adjustable wrenches.. the issue is the locknut is a bit more than an inch wide, so to use a wrench that works with a nut that wide, the tool I needed to use (like a wrench) would be too long to fit in the cramped area.. I kept banging the tool into the wall when trying to twist the tool to loosen the locknut. So I was stuck and about to call the plumber. Then I saw this Fluidmaster tool when looking for toilet repair stuff and thought “perfect!” For $10 it was worth a shot. After struggling with the stupid locknut for about an hour yesterday, I ordered this tool yesterday and was thrilled it could be delivered the today. Tried it and it works great. Has 3 different locknut fittings, and one of them fit on the old fill valve’s locknut. I also found the tool’s built-in ruler on the side very handy when installing the new fill valve, to ensure it was at the right position in the tank. THANK YOU FLUIDMASTER!!!! Now my toilet is working great again. ☺️☺️☺️

It does not work at all on a Toilet with a recessed fill valve nut. The hole that fits the nut is of the side so it won't fit in the recess. Even if it did, there's a wall behind the toilet so it ould be able to rotate.

I had to replace a seat and the brackets were broken. My vice grips and pliers didnt have angle to get a good turn. After watching numerous YouTube videos, I was about to burn the plastic out. Took me less than a minute to get these screws out with this tool.

This item worked for me very well and made the job of fixing toilets in my house a lot faster. The nuts underneath the toilet fill valves would be nearly impossible for me to take off to the point I almost shelled money to hire a contractor. Instead I opt to save my money and try to buy tools that can do the job for cheaper. Really happy with this and wish I knew about it earlier. Should have bought this along time ago. Definitely a good additional tool to have in the tool box. My only caution is to check the pattern of your nut before buying this one to see if it is compatible just in case. I was able to take off a nut that was stuck in under a minute where as without this, it took me almost a day.
