Lineco Neutral pH Adhesive, Acid Free All-Purpose Glue, White, 4 OZ, 1 Pack

I first discovered this product in the process of repairing some of my old books. When I ordered certain volumes, they would arrive with the spine partially unhinged or the dust jacket possessed tears that threatened to grow with time. In search of a fix, I repeatedly read online the value in using acid-free paper and glue for any repairs. As a result, I bought some durable Japanese mulberry paper. With paper ready, I had to find the right glue. Most websites, aside from preventing acidity, also emphasized the need for flexibility and durability. Wheat paste was the best option. Some people prefer to make their own paste, and while Lineco does sell a wheat starch, I ultimately went with this PVA alternative because I was afraid of bungling the process. While it is a synthetic polymer, it seems just as effective as the natural alternative. Some of the other reviewers express disappointment that their glue came out chunky, but I had no such issues. I can only assume the damage came about during the shipping process. My glue exits the tube with an even, smooth consistency. You do need to apply slightly more pressure than normal to get it to first emerge. The only additional work beyond opening the packaging was piercing the top of the container. The glue comes with a nipple, however, to ensure a longer shelf life. Once I applied it to the books and jackets for repairs, I was thrilled at how it turned out. It is a relatively quick drying glue, but I recommend leaving it alone for at least three or four hours in a stable position. My book jackets now stay in place, but with enough flexibility to allow for normal, cautious handling. With it being PH-neutral, my repairs should last for decades to come. My only complaint, if you can call it one, is cost. I felt that the product is reasonably priced and the bottle is relatively large, but if someone is unaware of what type of projects it is typically used for, they might think it is overpriced for normal school assignments or children's crafts. For professional purposes, it is a great, affordable item. I highly recommend it and will purchase again in the future.

Omg...this was amazing. I have a very old Bible. The leather separated from the binding. I was so upset. This product saved the day and my old Bible. I also have leather stove top covers that needed a bit of TLC on the corners. Again this worked extremely well. Have no doubts using this product!!!

I would most definitely recommend this product for repairing book binding! It chose this product based on its reputation and reviews. I needed to repair my old leather Bible where the leather spine became detached from the pages. I watched a step-by-step video on how to use this product （highly recommended） to be knowledgeable on how to use it. I squeezed an adequate amount of glue in a paper bowl and using a disposable paintbrush, I painted the glue onto the spine. Then, carefully I pressed the spine against the pages of my Bible and held it for a few minutes. Then I placed my Bible spine down between large books to complete the drying process for over an hour. I was impressed with how well the glue dried……my Bible looked professionally repaired; like new! I will now use this company's special clear tape for repairing a few pages that became detached. I have already watched a video on how to use this company's special tape.

A very good product. Adheres good, is flexible, and strong.

I bought this for use on the small threads making up a model ship's rigging - to help keep the rope hanks in shape, or any rope that I wanted to lay a certain way. Because I was told this would remain flexible and not leave a residue on the roping. And both of those are true.

The cover to my bible was coming apart. I purchased this to glue it back together and it worked great! I was even able to use it on another book and had the same good experience.

In the less than two months after ordering this product it turned into sludge and was unusable. Stored in optimum conditions and one bottle was unopened.

Gets the job done! Not stinky or obvious that it’s there. Holds very well.
