I recently had to replace a 20 year old sump pump and I initially made the mistake of not replacing the also 20 year old check valve. I went ahead and ordered this relatively inexpensive part. Installation was super easy. No need to worry about screwing this on a threaded PVC piece, I just slipped the rubber ends on and tightened the metal bands using a flathead and it was nice and snug. Once I turned on the new sump pump, it worked like a charm and super seamless! No leaks and it was really quiet too! I love that I can also visibly see the little stopper that’s inside. Save yourself the labor costs getting a plumber to install, you can do it yourself with YouTube and some good ol’ fashioned manual labor.

I was really skeptical that these would be quiet, but they seriously are. You honestly don't hear them at all. I really like that you can see them operate as well.

This "silent" check valve is really SILENT! For years I have endured the big thud bang sound at the end of a sump pump cycle. For the first time when my sump pump went off this time, there was no sound at all! One other thing, this silent check valve was extremely easy to install. Lastly, the price was excellent. I highly recommend this silent check valve.

Works great should've gotten this years ago, old style banged alot when it ran an stopped, this was one can't hear at all only problem I ordered the wrong size pipe size ,but trip to hardware store fixed me right up

Sump pump went out after a storm last year and realized no-one had previously installed a check valve despite the high outlet pump. Got this 1 because it was compatible with the pvc pipe and you can see it work or not work in case you need to. Very quick to install.

This is one of the few pump valves that has a clear mechanism in order to view that everything is working properly.. since I've installed this I get no more knocking from back pressure and no more drain from backfilling. Everything fit perfectly. Item seems high quality and well constructed. I love that this valve came with rubber rubber connectors and clamps. I haven't seen this item anywhere at any of the home improvement stores.. so if you're going to get one you should probably get it here. Time will tell if the glued seams on this plastic item hold up. But the plastic was strong enough to crank down on the clamps nice and tight.. I would buy this product again if I needed to.

The sump pump that came with our house was quite loud and had a normal check valve that had a massive THUNK sound every time it engaged. Our sump pit is in the room directly below our boys room so it would wake him up occasionally, which was not a good time. I replaced the sump pump with a Red Lion RL-SC50T which is also VERY quiet, and this check valve is indeed silent. I used to be able to hear the pump and check valve from anywhere in the house, and now I can only hear it from a couple feet away. If the loud thunk sound drives you nuts and you currently have a loud pump, I'd buy the combo of the Red Lion and this check valve...... It's been great and I can't recommend it enough. Install was super easy as well; 3 wraps of teflon tape, thread it into your pump outlet and clamp it to your existing ABS or PVC pipe and you're good to go. Couldn't be easier. I've had this installed for about 3 months and it's still quiet and working great.

OMG this is the best thing since sliced bread!!! We had the noisiest CLUNK noise when our sump pump was going off, with rain & running non stop there was NO sleep to be had at night. Did the research on this product and OMG it is worth EVERY penny!!! We are now 'checking' sump pump area as to make sure its actually working as its SO SO quiet but so far so good. Only thing to watch for when changing it over to this new amazing SILENT CHECK VALVE make sure to have a BUCKET & TOWELS on the ready as there is A LOT of water left in upper pipe lol If you are at all 'pondering' about purchasing this....DO NOT HESITATE...purchase ASAP!!! Very happy customers in a high water table area and looking forward to a good nights sleep!!

Worked great – 99% of the water hammer noise is gone! Huge difference. Only challenge for those with a basement watchdog pump I’d disclose - the pumpspy check valve body diameter is wider than OEM which the pumpspy check to encroached upon the main pump handle and wouldn’t screw in. To solve, I ended up buying another male threaded connector to screw into the main pump, added a bit of pipe to get over top of the pump handle then a female fitting for the check valve to screw into (to clear the handle). This meant re-plumbing the main and backup pipe plumbing as well.

Bought this to stop the water hammering caused by my standard check valve. This valve works great and was easy to install. If you want to get rid of your water hammer, get this.

I toyed around with the idea of purchasing one of these for a long time. Every time it rained, I would swear that I’d order one. I live in an a high water table area so my sump pump runs every single time it rains or if there’s significant snow melt. I broke down and purchased one but it got lost in transit, I ordered a replacement and decided I’d wait for the rain and spring thaw to end. My sump pump has been literally running nonstop for the past month. Yesterday I went to my basement to find that my loud check valve decided to spring a leak. I had no choice, I had to change it ASAP. I waited for the interval between the pump turned of and on slowed down and finally took the plunge. Super easy installation, unplugged the pump, loosened the clamps on the old check valve, pull it off and quickly put the return section of the pipe into a bucket to drain. Throw the new valve on, tighten the clamps on to the pipes and plug the pump back in and enjoy the leak free silence of this engineering marvel. I’ve written many reviews in my lifetime but never have I been compelled to write such a detailed review as this one. This check valve is a god send, no more constant water hammer, just the quiet buzz of the pump. If you have a sump pump and your check valve emits a loud noise due to water hammer, do yourself a favour and treat yourself to one of these, it’ll be the best money you’ll ever spend.
