I was looking for something that would keep my brittany spaniel in the back of my 2014 Jeep Cherokee. I liked this one because it allowed me to drop it down when not in use and looked reasonably secure.Pro'sExtremely easy to install. Took me 10 minutes to complete the assembly and install.Does not rattle when on the roadSeems sturdy when assembled and installedCon'sIt seem to partially block visibility from the rear view mirror. The horizontal bars are pretty wide and can be a little distracting. But I was able to remove one of the horizontal bars, which helped open up my visibility and the bonus was that my dog could stick his head thru without being able to jump into the back seat.For the Jeep Cherokee, I am unable to fold the gate down when not in use. There is not a lot of space between the top of the jeep and the head rest. Plus the roof line slopes down in back not allowing enough space to fold down. I'm guessing for vehicles that have a straighter interior roof line this would work perfectly.

This product was easy to install, and it is versatile. It can be used on the front seats facing up or down, or the back seat keeping the dog in the cargo area. I was looking for something to keep our very high energy crack head pomsky in the back seat because she screams in a kennel. She figured out quite fast how to pop the bars off and also get around them by sliding the ends in. I had to zip tie the bottom bar to the extra netting thing I had to buy for under the bars but she got right through that too. This would be a great product for most people but for my psycho tweaker dog, it was not sturdy enough unless I used a lot more tape, glue, and zip ties. This system fail is not the products fault, it's my mental dogs fault.

Not what I'd call heavy duty and a bit of a pain to install because of all the adjustment, but works as advertised. They fit around removable headrest inner posts on the outer seats. You'll have to flip the headrest around if you're using a taller toddler child seat and though it will not lock like this, the headrest won't come out with it installed upward; there is an interference issue on the Murano (mine is the '12 variety) for taller child seats with its angled headrests and I typically leave that one removed though I needed it to install this barrier.The extensible bars snap into plastic holders and adjust via a twisting motion like a shower bar on either end. They have to be adjusted in conjunction with the height adjustments on the vertical bars (Allen screws on the main bar and a sliding center support with one as well), then adjustment of the horizontal bars, then the angle knuckles to fit up and down past the inside vehicle overhead/side fairings, finished with locking the headrest clamps in place. They are a bit cheap in material make, but will hold well enough, I suppose.Overall, note the child seat issue and if you want to split the seats to fold one side down, you'll simply have to lossen the headrest clamps and pull the headrests out/remove the rack altogether or fold both sides down.

First, you definitely need to buy zip ties to keep the bars attached to the poles, one little bump and they are off. The extendable part of the pole is flimsy, and my dog easily broke them with his mouth, first by taking off the rubber caps, and then by completely bending the metal. He then figured out he could pop the headrest off and the whole barrier was on the floor of the car.If you don’t have a driven dog to get past the barrier, I think this would be fine, but if you do, look elsewhere. Where? I have no idea, I’m kind of at a loss.The good: it is super easy to install, and super easy to drop down when not in use.

Excellent choice for station wagons and smaller SUVs/cross-overs. Get a larger/heavier-duty unit for large SUVs/crew cab trucks.Works perfect in a Gen5 2015-2018 Subaru Outback. Mounts to rear seat headrest posts. No marring/dimpling/denting of headliner or vehicle upholstery like many other product designs. It is not necessary to extend the two vertical support rods in the Outback installation due to the low roof.Also uniquely swings down (knob release) against seat back to allow dropping rear seats forward for increased cargo area when pets are not present. Most pet screens/guards can't do this.Made in Italy, metal frame, and adjustable metal tub cross-rods, poly-plastic rod retaining clips. Includes hex wrench to tighten head rest post mount clamps. The rest of the Safety Barrier does not need any tools to adjust it or swing it down. The cross-rods extend and lock like twist-and-lock extension broom handles, no tools needed.Note: install the two vertical support rods so that the plastic cross-rod retaining clips face rearward, so when the pet(s) pushes forward against the cross-rods, they do not pop out of the clips, forward into the passenger seating area.While not a heavy-duty guard like the $200+ units, it is reasonably constructed and highly functional/versatile. Get a heavier duty unit if you have a full-size SUV or crew cab truck.Bought a customer return barrier from We Love Paws. Item was like-new/complete. I had high hopes. Easy to assemble, but un-hooking the unit from the headrest rods is torture. The drop down feature seemed nice, but unless the rear seat is contiguous, you will have to unhook the unit when you want to put the seat down. Torture. Most importantly, the rods that clamp to the unit fall out, eventually; making the unit worthless. I just revised my review. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

fairly easy to install and setup, you can remove the bars quiet easily but I am not sure how much they would help in an accident. If they had been made to fit in the roof brackets then it would have been much stronger. Is it worth the price? For me although the build quality is better than most its expensive for what you get.
