Perfect for engaging reluctant readers
It’s not great literature, but I’m very happy with this purchase for a number of reasons. One, though there are some sad moments (think Mt. Vesuvius), overall this is a happy and positive book. Two, the stories happen all around the globe and in different times in history, making them educational.Three, they are written simply and entertainingly enough that my “I hate reading” son can easily understand them.Four, they contain just enough illustrations to capture the interest of my visual, “I hate reading” son, who really only enjoys graphic novels and comics. He did enjoy this book however, and was proud of himself after he finished it, as well as Cat Diaries. As he should be.Five, the stories are short enough that if your child doesn’t like one, he can power through knowing the next will be up in a couple of pages.I hope more animal diaries books are created, and at different reading levels.

Funny & enjoyable
I bought this book for my grandson while we were on a trip. But each evening we read stories and everyone enjoyed them.

My third graders liked this book but seemed to enjoy it much less than the cat lover's diary. They seemed to get bored with the humor-style of writing this time.

Dog lovers delight!
Dog Diaries: Secret Writings of the Woof Society, a collection of short stories written by "dogs" proved to be the perfect gift for second grade classes at the end of the year. The students were all animal lovers especially dogs, so they were thrilled to listen to and read these unique stories. The beauty of this collection is that each story can be read independently and in any order. They are perfect listening pieces for second or third grade students and can be a quick interesting read for forth or fifth grade students. Great addition to a primary classroom's read aloud library.

8 year old Read in 1 Night!
We chose this book as one of the required summer readings for our 8 year old. She read the entire book in one day! To say she loved it would be an understatement. The book is under 90 pages and the chapters are short. The story is endearing for an animal loving child. My daughter had just finished James and Giant Peach so this was easier reading for her. From my daughter: "Cool adventures and funny, liked all the different dog stories and when they came together at the end."

pesimas condiciones
pensé que estaría en mejores condiciones y está hecho polvo. No lo devuelvo porque me saldría más caro. Hojas amarillas por completo y papel cargado de humedad. No recomiendo este vendedor. Un desastre.
