Where is this made? I will never trust China for electronics.

Well it's China. That's about the best you are ever going to get. When I was a kid Japan was making all this stuff but now it's shifted to China. I don't know if there are any US or European units made. This one is cheap, approved by NOAA (patsies to China) but that's how it is.

Might we damage the radio by charging it via solar rays?
