Q: Can you swap out the bulb, e.g., for an indoor grow light?

It is small a low-power solar panel,The power is output by mini USB. I think it is not suitable for grow lights. If you use the bulb as lighting for indoor,it is very good.

Q: Can this be left outside year round?

The bulb lights is not waterproof.it should be installed indoor. The solar pannel can be left outside year round no problem.

Q: Does the light dim as battery drains?

Yes, you'll notice is beginning to die when you can clearly see the individual leds inside the bulb as it dims.

Q: What am i doing wrong? i can’t get them to solar charge. they work great the first day, then nothing. panel is in very bright sunlight all day.

First ,Please charge the bulb by your USB power adaptors with USB power cable (the port must be mini usb port) and see whether the charging indcator is light on(red) on the bulb. If the charging indicator on the bulb keep light off when you connect the bulb to the USB power adaptor by mini USB port cable. It means the bulb can not be charged anymore.Please return the product amazon stockhouse and ask one new from amazon service. Second,if the charging indicator light on (red) when you connect the bulb to the USB power adaptor by USB cable.It means the bulb is ok. Please connect the solar panel to the bulb by USB port.And see whether the charging indicator lights on( red.). If the charging indicator light on(red).then please keep you solar under sun light and let the solar panel facing the sun.several hours,then the bulb will be charged ok. If the charging indicatorlight off，it means the solar panel is defective.Please ask amaon to exchange the product for you. Hope my answer is helpful for you.
