Defective
This clock arrived in despicable condition. Box looked like another customer returned it cause it does not work so someone sloppily taped the badly damaged box and sent it out to me. Clock did not work, directions were horrible and a standard AA battery did not fit in the back of the clock. No way to contact company so I returned never to order from this third-party seller

Uses uncommon batteries... Heads up! AA Carbon Zinc batteries
I am so aggravated. This is the second clock I've ordered in a week. The first one I just didn't like PLUS it used carbon zinc batteries. *Sigh* personally, I have never heard of these batteries and didn't know the clock used them because it isn't stated except way down on the product page. All I saw, initially that the clock used 1 - AA battery. This second clock uses the same carbon zinc batteries and I deliberately looked on the product page to see what battery it uses. One AA battery. NOT one AA Carbon Zinc battery. Since I like the clock, I'm going to keep it until I find one I like better and uses alkaline batteries. I don't keep carbon zinc batteries in my home since I've never heard of them and really don't appreciate having to buy specialty batteries when I have ton of AA alkaline batteries already. I bought the 12 inch clock for my kitchen and there's NOT A DUCK POTHOLDER IN SIGHT. 🙄 The clock IS black because it is next to my bronze/brown cabinets and you can clearly see the clock is black . It has light colored numbers that are easy to read. The second hand is red ... a nice touch. The clock looks nice on my Travertine. I'm not fond of the French hotel print in the center, but I'll live with it until I find another clock I like that uses alkaline batteries. I took one star off for the uncommon batteries.

Nice clock, not too heavy.
It's made to look like it has worn spots, rustic looking. Looks great on my fireplace. The clock is not very heavy, and it works great.

Pretty clock, unfortunately won't work for me
Clock arrived quickly boxed very well and securely. Should have read this reviews, this clock will not work for me because it has no glass. It is a clock and the hands are exposed, wish they would have explained this in the description. But it is very pretty. Had to return it.
