Top Quality
We have a barn full of automatic horse waterers. We have used several different types of floats and This is by far the best quality. Whether installed left or right, it works as advertised and remains adjustable either direction. The cost is well worth the reliability and ease of operation.

NOT STANDARD THREADS
The threads are not the standard NPT threads. Instead, they are NST. This means you will not be able to find a fitting to screw onto the float, which basically makes this thing useless for anything other than a paperweight. DO NOT BUY! I ended up just buying an $8.00 plastic float and it works just fine.

NST threads, not NPT threads
The threads are NST, or straight threads, not the much more common NPT, or tapered threads, used to make up water connections (at least in America). That means you will need either a (hard to find) NST/NPT adapter or a NPT die to cut tapered threads. Alternatively, you can try carefully forcing an NPT plastic fitting over the NST threads and pray it seals (without breaking).

Flow is not adequate
The hole is not big enough for the flow.

worked great to replace the plastic one that came with automatic water unit.
love the brass housing, won't crack and leak, had to tinker with the float adjustment but once i learned it it's consistent and works as it should.
