Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50, 3.4 Fl Oz

This is my favorite sunscreen. It lasts hours even when sweating, it's not greasy, and it smells nice. We do reapply every couple of hours when there's no shade, but that's longer than any other we've used. It does take a little work to rub it in so you're not white but I don't mind as long as the product works which it does. Also, you need to shake it in between uses because the coconut separates. Again, I don't care because it works great!

My wife and I were looking for a “reef safe” sunscreen for our 12-day trip to St. John. After reading reviews, we got two 3.4 oz. bottles of Hawaiian Tropic Mineral Sunscreen SPF50. One of the criticisms of reef safe sunscreen is that it doesn’t spread well. And yes, this was a bit more challenging to spread. But it wasn’t bad, really, and it’s nice to think you might be helping the reefs, which helps the fish, etc. The smell was wonderful—a tropical, coconut scent. We loved putting it on just for that! We’d start every day putting on sunscreen before getting dressed, then re-apply if needed after swimming. The 3.4 oz. bottle meets the standard for carry-on, so it traveled well through the airport. We thought we might need to buy more on the island (where it’s significantly more expensive), but the 3.4 oz. bottle each of us had got us through the entire 12-day trip, and we used it daily. We even have a little bit leftover! I’m sure we’ll buy this again, even if we’re not going near a coral reef. It’s a great product, and it worked very well—we got plenty of sun, and neither of us was sunburned even once!

I bought this for my granddaughter who rows crew in a rowing club. This keeps her on the water many hours weekly catching sun rays from the sun, and reflected from the water surface. I made the mistake of 'sunbathing' as a teenager before people knew about the dangers of too much sunlight on your skin. I learned about the effectiveness of this product from my skincare Dr. My granddauaghter knew all of the danger, as she is a teenager, but did not do enough, for the same reason, so I sent this to her. She loves me, so she uses it. She'll love me more later.

Great sunscreen. Smells good, but not overpowering. Best mineral sunscreen I’ve used—still a bit pasty, but rubs in better than any other brand. The bottle design is horrible. The cap falls off with the slightest touch. If you like sunscreen in the bottom of your beach bag, the bottle is great.

it is a mineral sunscreen so it’s expected to come with a white cast which is pretty bad at first but as long as u rub it in for a minute it does end up going away and i find it’s helpful to apply it in layers (normally just 2) to minimize the white cast. i have dry skin and it feels a bit oily so it might not be best suited if u have oily skin though it does sit well under makeup, i def recommend

Product smells great and goes on better than most mineral sunscreens. It was labeled as "reef safe" so I assumed it would work well in water. It did not. After just a half hour in the Caribbean water, my skin was red. The product did not say "waterproof" so we decided to use it only when we were away from the beach. Unfortunately, even in the cold spring weather of our northern climate we still ended up with red skin. We had no choice but to throw away the rest of the bottle. Do not expect this lotion to protect you from the damaging rays of the sun.

It's very lightweight and doesn't leave a white cast, however it also isn't very effective. I got this for a vacation and applied a liberal amount and still felt my skin burning no matter how much I put on and sure enough I did get a sunburn and ended up having to use my face sunscreen on my whole body to feel like I was getting proper protection. It did have a nice smell and I could see it being effective enough if you're just outside for very short periods of time throughout a normal day like no more than 20 minutes at a time.

Product came late. Was missing a lid.. the other lid off and product leaked! Not impressed.
