These clamps are extremely difficult to remove without using a cut-off wheel. can these pliers also be used to remove them?

These pliers easily remove the clamps. I use these every day! Just put the sharp edge of the plier in the ear part of the clamp and twist, it will break right off!!

Any reason to go with cv boot pliers over this tool?

They really don’t give you enough leverage to properly clamp the boot tight enough in my opinion. It’s best to spend a little more for the right tool. Most Boot clamps give you the ability to extend them with 1/2” breaker bars or ratchets to clamp tight. These are great for ear o-rings for hosing and vacuum lines. Get a set of the o-rings and that’s all you need if what your doing doesn’t include with it.
