Feels like I'm a kid again
I decided to buy this controller because I recently bought a PS3 and it came a third party controller that didn't feel quite nice to use. This controller feels like the only one I should use with the console and makes me feel like I'm ten years old again.

They wouldn't send me anything worth buying
The first one I ordered had a stuck right thumbstick, like literally it would stay all the way over to the right after you let go. And the D-Pad was like it was shorted out and would send lots of quick presses across multiple directions when you'd click one direction once. I returned that one and got "an exact" replacement. The second one seemed like it was restored with way cheap thumbsticks and triggers, testing it, it'd go from 0 to 32000 (max input) in like just 20% of the full hardware travel of the stick or trigger, for all of them. And it felt way lighter than a legit DS3 and rumble did not work in any games. I suspect the rumble devices were just removed since it felt so much lighter than it should, but I did not take apart to verify. I returned the second one for a refund and gave up on this company. I'm ok with used and restored, was willing to pay for that. But they weren't willing to send me anything that was a legit DS3 that was properly restored with decent parts, which the product page makes it sounds like they're all about high standards here, so maybe I just got really unlikely with the two pieces of not properly restored items they sent me :-/

These are legit and not fakes
If anyone is skeptical as to whether or not these are fakes and someone pulled a fast one on Amazon and fooled them (like they have with GameStop), these are indeed genuine DualShock 3 controllers. Mine came looking brand new. Not a scratch on it. It even had the OEM charger cable (it has a ferrite bead cylinder at the end). The true test is to put the PS3 in recovery mode. If you can press the PS Home button, the controller is real. Not a single third party or even licensed third-party controller works in this mode. A rare few will be able to turn the console on or even use the home menu in-game, but none will work in recovery mode with the PS Home button. Some will let you navigate the recovery OPTIONS. A genuine controller is needed when doing HDD swaps, for example. For the price, these are a steal. Get them while they still exist.

Refurbished New
The cable that it came with is trash, but the overall control is great and in working condition.

BEWARE
Buyer beware, i purchased two of these controllers because of how confused i was, my first controller had an issue with powering up/recharging and not turning on at all, so i submitted information for a replacement, when i got the replacement i did everything i did with the first controller, unwrapped, plugged it in with the charger that came with it, still the same issue, then i noticed the barcode on the back of the controller, theres russian language which i found interesting as an american, then it hit me, i remember going through a situation where it stressed me out and i never forgot about what i had to go through to get to the bottom of it lol, turns out i had to use a USB SONY CERTIFIED CHARGER to power this thing up, i pulled out my box of cords and dug out the ancient charger and voila! it works!, so to those out there having issues with this controller, this is most likely the reason why, hope this helps.

Refurbished no longer means fully functioning
This review could be considered non indicative to all of the controllers received through the refurbished program, my controller could be a knock off even if the attempt was made to make it look like the real thing, the PS button and Sony logo print were the first signs I noticed due to their imperfections, the interaction and d-pad buttons on the left and right were replaced which I only noticed when attempting to play killzone 2 due to sometimes having to aggressively press into the controller to send the input. As far as aftermarket joysticks go these were some of the better kind but still not up to snuff. The biggest reason that got me to return mine was the lack of sixaxis capability, usually means the controller is broken or a fake, if it were not for this issue I would have kept it. For a refurbished PS3 controller this doesn't meet the standard of excellent condition, yes it's looks good at first glance and someone who has never used a PS3 controller might not notice it's a possible fake, for all I know it's a ship of theseus controller. All in all, for excellent condition you would expect it to function properly considering some titles on the PS3 are heavily implemented to utilize what the dualshock 3 had to offer.

Bad Battery
Spent more money because I wanted an original controller instead of aftermarket. Arrived with a bad battery that wouldn't charge. Wish I had sent it back, but I assumed I was just doing something wrong, and wasn't sure until after I purchased and installed a new battery. Otherwise, it works perfect and only shows the tiniest spot of wear (you'll never see it if you're not looking for it). I hate to have to only give 1 star, especially since I like it now that it's repaired, but I can't be positive about something that doesn't work until I spend more money and fix it myself.
