I have used my ICECO VL45 ProS for over a year on several trips and outdoor outings. I can't imagine taking a trip or camping with out it! The unit performs exactly as advertised and has kept our food and drinks at the perfect temperatures for long periods with no issues. It's extremely easy to carry and load, it retains its set temperature, and is very quiet when operating in the back seat of my pickup truck. I'm very impressed with the build quality and features. I recommended this same refrigerator to my sister and she and her husband are extremely happy with theirs. They regularly use it for travel and even when grocery shopping locally! I recently had an issue with it powering up and ICECO's Customer Services was excellent! They were prompt and responsive and guided me through diagnostics until the issue was satisfactorily resolved. Great people! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the ICECO portable refrigerator for its quality, performance, and based on the fact that ICECO really does stand behind their product. I've had mine (VL45S) for nearly a year now. It still runs perfectly. It may not be as "pretty" as one of those Euro-slick Dometics, but who cares, especially since you will buy the thermal jacket for it (as I highly recommend). And it's a lot less expensive. I've taken it on two long road trips, to Mexico earlier this year and to Utah/Nevada last month, and both times it worked flawlessly. A great accessory to bring along! Nothing like an ice-cold Coke Zero (or whatever it is you drink) out in the middle of the desert! I have two batteries in my truck - my second, the backup battery, is a cheap old AutoZone Duralast battery that was on its last legs months ago and can barely hold enough of a charge to even start my truck. I would disconnect my main (good) battery at night and run the fridge off the bad battery. Even so, it would usually run ALL NIGHT and there'd still be enough juice to (barely) start the truck. Only once or twice did the voltage protection kick in and the fridge shut down, and that was when I was parked overnight in southern Utah (where it's ptetty hot), and once when I was in Guadalajara Mexico, when I accidentally forgot to unplug it while I stayed at a hotel for three nights. I am extremely happy with my purchase, and I think you will be too. Get the thermal jacket that is available for it, a good investment in my opinion.

Look I’m a Truck Driver which means I’m stuck eating Truck stop food all the time which is not only unhealthy but very expensive average is $30 for one meal. I purchased this freezer and It fits nicely in my truck runs off of 12 V and has an Eco setting where it is not running constantly and when it is running you can’t even hear it! now I vacuum seal portions that I can cook in my truck, which is not only cheaper but healthier. I love this freezer. It goes down to 0° so will keep your meats and ice cream rock solid if that’s what you want. Trust me guys if you run like I do this thing will pay for itself very quickly.

Bought this to replace a frig in my conversion van. It lasted several years, but the compressor went out. My criteria was a better unit than what I had, more reliable, more affordable, but it had to be the right size to fit into the existing space. One of the biggest plusses is that the ICECO has a 5 year warranty on the compressor, while many others only have one year. Read a lot of reviews on multiple manufacturers and this is what I chose. Best of all, because it was on sale I got it for basically the same price as the cost of my old frig. Size wise it was a bit bigger, but it fit. I did have to build a small platform in the bottom of the slide out drawer to raise the frig. This was needed, because the bottom of the frig was tapered instead of squared. So far after 10 days of use all worked well. If anything changes I will update this post.

I want to give it a full five stars but the temperature never reached the advertised low. Even at max setting on the AC outlet, it never got below 10F. It's enough to keep ice cubes and popsicles frozen, but ice cream is soft. I wish there was Bluetooth capability to set and monitor the fridge. It would be nice to be able to monitor and set your temps without having to go to the fridge. Aside from that, the fridge runs really quiet and is extremely efficient. The size is perfect for solo extended trips or a weekend for two. I have the VL45 ProS and the lid configuration is really nice. I can open from both sides or remove the lid altogether if needed. Having the DC port on on both ends makes installing this onto slide that much easier. Overall I am very happy with the fridge. Seeing as I will rarely use this as a freezer, the inability of the fridge to reach 0-degrees is mostly moot. Although it will still bug me to know that it doesn't even if I don't need it to. Would I recommend this fridge to others? It depends on their usage. I will definitely warn them about the temperature range and my experience with it.

We use this refrigerator/freezer on a basement slide. It works great and with the added perk of battery backup, it gives us peace of mind. Our first one didn't have that battery. We lost a lot of frozen food after a circuit breaker flipped off. It is quite heavy for us to lift (ages 79). We have friends that help when needed so it's not a big deal. We replaced the one that conked out, before discovering that it was perfectly fine. It now has a new home. .

I purchased a VL45ProS as a replacement for another model that didn’t work out for me. As with other models, I put this unit through a good amount of testing using Bluetooth thermometers and mechanical ones. I ran it for several days on AC and separately tested it while attached to a power station so I could monitor real-time power consumption. I will say I was pleasantly surprised at how well this unit holds temperature in both Max and Eco modes. During testing, with 72 deg ambient temperature, and a set point of 38 deg, this fridge maintained a very acceptable 1.5 deg variation between cycles, pulling roughly 50W during the initial cool down, and only 32W each successive cycle as it maintained the temperature. The unit generally ran for only a few minutes each cycle, and then coasted without the compressor running for 15-20 minutes. Noise level while the compressor was running was roughly 55dB at compressor start, which very quickly drops to 38-40dB as the compressor settles down. I was easily able to power the fridge directly from a solar panel and still had plenty of power to recharge the power station with only moderate winter sun and heavy shading supplying 50-80w of power. I tested the unit with it empty and with it 50% full of water and other items, and its performance was almost the same either way. A note on the temperature accuracy of the front panel vs. actual measured, as this seems to be a major point with most portable fridges. The unit I received was off by about 3-4 deg (which is very good for this type of fridge and way better than most), however the VL line has a cool option for calibrating the internal sensor to align the setpoint display. So, after adjusting the F1/F2/F3 parameters, the fridge is now dead accurate with the measured reading of the external thermometers and the front display set point now matches what’s actually happening inside. While this may not seem like a big deal, if you depend on your fridge to keep your food at a safe temperature (below 40deg), this is a pretty nice feature. If you’re thinking about a portable fridge in this size range for extended use in overlanding or camping, you will be hard pressed to find another fridge like this one; with its large capacity, low power consumption, high insulation efficiency, and multiple power connection options on both sides. Not to mention, the trick lid that opens from both sides and comes off without having to change anything, making it super convenient to get into from wherever it sits in the vehicle.

This is an amazing cooler. Use it at home as a beer fridge in the garage or in the box of my truck when I'm travelling/ camping. Jackery will run it for days, when I'm driving it runs off the 12v outlet I put in the box of the truck.

I put the iceco through a trial test in my house. I connected it to my jackery 1500 and it kept our milk, coffee cream and drinks cold for 4 full days and still had 30 percent left on the jackery. We probably opened it at least a dozen times a day. We’re very pleased so far.

Very efficient, rugged, great design. Pulled 35watts to run in 40 degree weather and had no issue running off my portable power Bank and solar panel kit.
