Q: Are these toys a good size for a 5 year old? I see some reviewers feel tools are small but appreciate that these tools are made with safe materials.

Here's the deal. This are well made tools. However, they are real tools. So the hammer is a real hammer, the saw is a real saw, yes dull, but can still cut you. The screw drivers are real. If you plan on having your 5 year old to real projects around the house and you are not worried that they might cut themselves, smash their thumb with the hammer, or poke their eye out with the drivers, go for it. The problem with this set is the fact they are real tools, small but real. To real for a young child. When I child is ready for a real tool set, say around 8 or 9, these tools are way to small for them.
