Lanolin, Anhydrous Lanolin X-tra Pure Pharmaceutical Grade USP and EP

I've been, erm, getting older and I've noticed that many moisturizers that I've absolutely loved are no longer working. I slather them on liberally and five minutes later they've gone AWOL! I'm feeling rather sad and depressed at this point because I've heard older women talking about various moisturizers becoming ineffective at a certain point of age... Am I at this point now? Should I just give up fighting father time and go lay on beach with a beer for hours on end until I morph into beef jerky? Hell no! A friend of mine, who by the way lives on a farm, told me about lanolin! I tried it and was hilarious with joy. It absorbed and stayed on my skin moisturizing for hours. I woke up the following morning with my face feeling supple just like it did in my twenties. The only problem was that his farm made refined lanolin stank to high heaven. Digging into some independent research (me being the researcher) I found something called pharmaceutical grade lanolin. The stink is low to null and it still supplies the moisturizing power. So, I tried this lanolin and it works wonderfully. I've tried other purified lanolin products; they're okay. The texture of this lanolin reminds me of the farm fresh but without the overwhelming smell. There is a smidgen of odor as there are with any "honestly for real" natural products but it won't knock you off your... My concern has been if a product has been so incredibly refined as to render it totally and completely of its odor, what else has it been rendered of? I prefer this product. Plus the sheep on the top of the jar makes me happy when I use it... yeah, I'm THAT goofy... : )

I wrote this for the 0.74oz size "lip balm" container and loved it so much I just bought the bigger 2oz size: I have been having reactions to various products on my lips and have been trying to figure out what the culprit is. So I was looking for a product that has a single or very few ingredients. First I was just using plain white petrolatum, but even though it wasn't making my lips worse, it wasn't making them better either. After some research I found lanolin, especially the purified medical-grade kind. Most of it seems to come in lotion type tubes or big tubs, but this one is a perfect little pot that I can keep in my purse, so I got it. Wow, what an improvement! My inflamed lips felt so much better after applying this product. They have stopped peeling too. It lasts a long time on my lips (isn't easily eaten or licked off) and is very moisturizing and protective. I specifically did not want a product with fragrance/flavor (in case that is what caused my lip reaction), and this has none. Some people's reviews say it smells "sheepy", but I think it smells more like a new bandaid (antiseptic). After you've had it on a few minutes, that goes away, but I don't really find it offensive anyway, since I consider it a medicinal product. Also, some people say the consistency is too hard or makes their lips white. I feel that is because it is a natural product with no stabilizers and the consistency will vary with temperature. I live in a hot humid climate, so that hasn't been a problem for me. It isn't too hard or too soft and goes on clear. I have been using qtips to apply to keep from contaminating the pot or getting hands sticky. You could easily use a finger to apply if you wanted to though. I will definitely buy this again.

I discovered lanolin as a nursing mother when I was given a tube of Lansinoh. I continued buying it as it is absolute magic on chapped lips/face/hands/feet - for me and my children. Lansinoh brand is expensive, though, for this and very inconvenient when trying to squeeze from the tube (especially when in the winter). I was looking for an alternative. A pure, anhydrous, pharmaceutical grade product. Initially, I tried Medela - not only was the tube still an issue, but the product seemed to have something added to it as it had more the texture of petroleum jelly and was not as effective as Lansinoh. I then tried a product from a company called NOW - it was very inexpensive and came in a large tub. Reviews for it were mixed primarily because of the smell. I couldn't help but give it a try and - those reviewers were right - the smell was atrocious - a foul, fuel-like odor. Works like a charm, but the smell puts me off and drives my husband crazy (who usually isn't that sensitive to smells). I'll continue to use it on my feet only (overnight with socks - truly magical) but cannot get it any closer to my face than that. I also will not purchase it again. With the hunt back on, I found this product, reasonably priced, in a convenient tub. I just opened it and - heaven! - it is just like Lansinoh! No foul odor, very sticky (softens as it warms - so you only need a very small dab). This is going to be my new go-to for all things chapped! I highly recommend using it on hands and feet, then covering with cotton gloves and socks over night. As I am approaching my late 40's, I have found my hands and, especially, my feet are getting really dried out (yuck!) - the lanolin helps in a way no other product I've used has (and I have tried A LOT of different products!).

This is the most amazing cream/salve/lotion whatever you want to call it, on the earth. Seriously. My boyfriend J is currently serving in Afghanistan and he told me how bad his hands were chapped and cracked. I instantly went to amazon and ordered him the Lanolin. Not only was I shocked at how fast he received it, but after just the first use, J said it was already healing his hands. Three days in, totally healed. J is obviously a very manly man being in the military and all and this stuff is thick and a bit sticky so he had reservations about using it. I told him to put it all over his hands before he went to bed and wallah! No more hurting chapped and cracked hands. He loves it so much now, I convinced him to start putting it on his lips too! This stuff is so amazing I don't know why it isn't more popular. Years ago, when I moved from the East to the West Coast the biggest change for me was dry skin and chapped lips. I tried everything and while some stuff came close it wasn't until my sister in law suggested I try pure lanolin that my skin was changed forever! I know it seems crazy but it's true. I love this stuff I have one in the bathroom one in the bedroom and one in my purse. No more dry lips or elbows, heels or cuticles. When I have a boo boo- it heals it and beautiful soft skin appears. I'm thrilled that it's now available in the round container. When I first started using Lanolin, I could only find it in the form of nipple cream for nursing mothers! But I didn't care, if it's good for the nipps it's good for the lips. Even now, if I go to the local drugstore I can't find pure lanolin that isn't for nursing mothers. Ordering this from amazon is so easy and well worth it. Don't hesitate! Get this stuff and start loving your skin again!

This stuff is great, holds moisture extremely well. Not sure what all the complaints are about its smell - I love that there isn't any perfume - it's a very natural smell, subtle and not at all overwhelming or barnyardy. My boyfriend actually loves it. I am bummed only b/c I must not have read the reviews well enough. I bought this to rub on my preggo belly (to prevent stretch marks) but I didn't realize it would be so STICKY. Not good for anything other than small areas like chapped heels or feet. Great for lips!

I have had a tube of Medela Lanolin for YEARS. Maybe fifteen years. And it finally ran out. I don't use lip balm, I just smear a little rosehip oil and then some lanolin on my lips every time I brush my teeth, and everything stays good for the rest of the day. So you can see, where having used the Medela, it worked so well I was cautious about using something else. And there was a review about how sticky it was, how it made your lips numb. But. I took the leap, which, looking back, not sure what I was so worried about. $10? Exactly. But something made me try this. And I couldn't be happier. It came in a very nice, easy to use tub. It IS plastic, and I would have preferred glass, but. I can always transfer it if I want. Anyways. It smells GLORIOUS. Not a strong scent, but can definitely smell that it is lanolin, which is also reassuring to me that it hasn't been TOO processed. Its a beautiful warm honey color. And a teeeeeeny bit goes a longgggggg way. It slides on so easily, no tackiness, no numbness, and it lasts all day. AND it's distriibuted through a company right here in NC, which I love to support. Thank you for a great product! I'm kind of sad I won't need another one for a while !

It works! This is something you use daily or keep in your medicine chest for future use. Seller is very open with being contacted at any time, includes info with order. The web site is amazing and easily understood for info or ordering. personally I love this product, the uses are so many for body, hair, home uses, shoes, etc... I like the fresh natural scent, being a pure, highest quality grade, natural made product from organic farming/ranching of sheeps wool. I buy this product knowing all the importance of the what's and why's and will buy again from this knowledge. I like the ease of application, it melts so readily and soaks in imediately, it is luxury! My cracked to the flesh hands heal quickly my nails look better, the cracked heels soak it in and regain softness look decent just as when applied to my winterized high desert lizard lips. my hair is shiny, strong, with no static, curls gently with radiance of natural color high lighted. my boots are gently cleaned, perserved and buffed to a slight shine from the lanolin, a little goes a long ways for all jobs. It works very well for my needs. It was packaged carefully, then wrapped, boxed and shipped in a timely matter. Also was a hand written note besides the packing slip. I know this must sound too Pollyanna, but hey... YOU try it for yourself and see the truth.

I bought this for use with wool products, little knowing I would fall in love with it as well for use on my hands. This wonderful product works in a way I never imagined. The kitchen is where I spent most of my time and am in & out of water all day & into the night. My hands have been terribly dry to the point of cracking in some places & there were days where I just couldn't overcome the dry skin even with several applications of my favorite shea butter during the night. Coming to the rescue is this lanolin product. It has just a wee bit of smell to it, nothing much really & I'm super sensitive to odors. I touched this stuff very carefully as I had never used anything like it before. A small bit goes a long way. So I now use it on my hands & feel the protection from drying out as the water seems repelled. Not in a bad way but just the feeling of protection. Hard to describe but my hands are benefiting greatly from using this lanolin during the day. My hands then feel soft, as well as being protected from the elements. I love this product in this form. The container is a perfect size so is easily stored and has enough in it to last a long time. This is great stuff!
