Does this battery charge via the usb cable and a 3 pin plug (with usb port) for the uk mains system? or does it have to be charged via a pc usb port?

If the USB ports of your PC can charge at 5V, then it should be enough to charge the Video Doorbell's battery. Please note that the USB charging cable that came in the box with your camera is for indoor charging only; also, the Video Doorbell Wireless is not weather resistant when the battery is removed, so you must bring both the battery and the Video Doorbell inside when charging the battery.
