Does the job

This helped me determine which areas of my car were high with clear coat and others that had less than the door jambs did! So I was able to do a good compound on areas with etching and excess clear, while being gentle on the regions without much. All in all the car came out well.

Never used one of these before but this product was well designed, good directions, easy to understand how the device worked. Came with a small protective bag, wrist strap. Impressive, really recommend this product

Great product easy to use

Very good especially for the price. Detects and mics steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel very well. Comes in a nice small box with calibrating plates. Arrived in Canada in 2 days! Thank you :)

I recently purchased a used vehicle. I decided to buy this to detect whether or not the car I was interested in had ever been repaired due to an accident. I tested it on my nephew's car that I knew for fact had been in an accident and repaired. Lo and behold as we tested different panels on his car the panel that had been repaired registered in the red zone which is the indicator for repair work. I was impressed, although I had a Carfax report on the used car which listed no accidents, I wanted to be sure. Note: if repairs aren't done by an authorized repair facility there will be no report of the repairs, for instance if you take it to your local shade tree repairman they don't report.

I work in the auto detailing/wrapping industry. I use this tool to identify if panels have been repainted, because when vinyl wrapping a vehicle, a repainted car has a higher chance of paint peeling off when removing vinyl. The tester works great, and can identify the thickness of the paint, regardless of the condition of the paint. Just a little disclaimer, some cars are made of aluminum, fiberglass, carbon fiber, plastic - where this tester won't work. Not the testers fault, but just something to consider.
