Non compliant plug
The whole reason I ordered this inside Australia was because was quoted as Australia supplier. I could have ordered this from the States myself at almost half of this price. But the main reason is because of come with an authorized Australian 240v plug, instead it came with an US plug and you included a non compliant 240v Australian plug. So now I have to buy complaint 240v adaptor. All this supplier is, is a drop shipper.

Great home NAS drive
I have a small photography business as well as a techno geek. I also have a PC, but assume they will work just as well with Mac. I Believe in having at least 3 backups for my photos and other critical data so besides the cloud, I wanted to have a local copy. I started with one 4Tb drive and now have 5. All of them are Buffalo Link Stations. (Please note if I would have know how much storage I need I may have gone a different route). I have 2-4Tb drives and 2-6Tb drives. Installation was easy. I connected them to my network switch, turned them on and after a few minutes to boot, they were on line and discoverable. Besides my desk top PC, I also have 2-Surface Tables that can access the drives. The software that comes with the drives helps with any configuration you want to do, Including if you want to backup to another drive, though I found this to be a little clunky and the backup program I use does a better job. Also, you may want to go in the config and turn off the trash can storage, as this could be a pain if you delete a lot of data as it does take up space. I found that I would run out of space when I did automatic backup and cleaning. All in all a very good drive for a small home business or just to store critical data

All my data is locked on a harddrive I can't access because someone forgot to update software....
Used to use exclusively Buffalo drives from my back up and storage, USED TO.. When setting up on my old computer I could not get time machine to connect to the drive, verified setting and even reformatted. Had to manually transfer files, a very arduous task on the front end and back. Setting up the new computer it took some time to find the downloads again from the web site. Tried to install the network tool and am left feeling abandoned as current Mac OS is not supported. This is completely unacceptable. 4 TB of data that I can not access. By the time I get a new drive, set the old system back up and transfer everything my return window on this thing will have elapsed. So I will be stuck with a brand new brick. It's and absolute shame. Hardware wise it still seems very well constructed and is of a quality I have come to expect from Buffalo, but they will let you down on the back end. They forgot that network drives need network software and support.
