Firstly, this is a solid piece of equipment; no cheap plastic bits. It is very sturdy and once in a position that suits you, it stays in position. The magnifier is superb and the light is fantastic; very bright and even. It is advertised as having over 50,000 hours of life. Well, maths is not my strong point, but I think 50,000 hours works out to 5 years 7 months - and that is IF you left the light on for 24 hours a day, every day, which of course you won't do. So, if they are correct in quoting 50,000 hours, then I'm looking forward to many years of use. Let's see. So far, I love it.

A good compromise between cost, size and quality. Just about a long enough reach for my worktop. The key asset is the ease of positioning. It is easy to move into position and it stays in place! Very bright. The lens cover is good (and needed if you want to avoid the risk of sunlight causing burns or worse). Good quality glass lens. Very happy with this lamp.

This has to be the best value magnifier lamp I've seen. Nice bright light and just enough magnification for my aging eyes. Great not to have separate power supply. It does put out a fair amount of RF intereference, which nearby radios pick up.

Grips the side of my desk like a lion with a gazelle. It's not going anywhere. Had it a year and the arm mechanism is as strong as a baboon that goes to the gym every day. The light works well. Magnification does indeed magnify. Top class.

I got this for my miniature painting , has 2 movable arms that bolt onto the edge of your desk they measure about 16" per arm and the lamp is about another 10" . My desk is 53" wide and I find it ideal for a desk this size , the lamp is very bright daylight , the magnifier I would guess doubles my miniatures size so I can paint the fine details much easier . Overall I find its the perfect tool for my miniature painting and I am so please I got one . One downside could be if you have a very small desk or no side desk edge to bolt it onto .

I have had this lamp for two years now, and every time I use it I think “I must write that review”! Well, at last, here it is: I simply cannot fault this lamp. Its joints are really strong, so you can extend it fully AND bring the head right down to the workspace for using the magnifier. Its long reach when fully stretched (roughly a metre) and ease of swivel means that you can focus the light almost anywhere within a 2m radius of wherever it is clamped. Once I had worked this out I clamped it to the best spot and haven’t had to move it since. It’s also a classy-looking item, so no need to put it away. I can recommend without hesitation.

I bought this lamp to do nails and it’s perfect to use instead of having to put on my reading glasses to see the small detail. It is quite heavy so you need a secure surface to attach the clamp to and you need to look directly through the centre to avoid distortion also its big to store. If you have somewhere you can leave it set up it’s ideal, bright light and very good magnification, great value for money.

I bought this lamp as my magnifying goggles hurt my nose after long sessions. This lamp is nice and bright and has a good level of magnification (enough to see small miniature models clearly, but not so much that you have to hold the model so close to the lens due to the focal length that you can't get your brush in).
