Good Protection, Easy to Setup
Plastic all around and a soft layer on top makes for a good combination of protection and comfort. A small velcro portion cover the zippers for added protection. The size fit my mattress well with some room to spare. Setup was easy, love how the zipper covers three out of four sides, so I was able to open it up completely, set the mattress on top and then bring the cover over the mattress and zip it up. I had a big bulge of air when I first set it up, but I went out for a bit and when I came back the bulge was gone. Highly recommend.

A QUALIFIED VERY GOOD BUY!!
A very good overall product. From materials, construction and fit a definite good buy. It was a bit difficult to slip on my mattress. The zipper, especially on the last third of its "track" was very difficult to close and seal up. I had to use both hands to make the "pull" close properly.

Very Good Quality
I installed this encasement on my mattress, along with the SafeRest box spring encasement, as a preventative measure and deterrent*, so I can't speak to whether or not these keep bed bugs in or out. What I can say is the quality is far superior to the original encasement I purchased (no names, comes in orange packaging). That one was a much cheaper material and was so hot to sleep on, I'd wake up laying in my own sweat. The terry top on the SafeRest encasement is fantastic --- soft, doesn't hold in the heat, I sleep like a baby on it. The SafeRest zipper is very tight and gave me no problems, and the Velcro closure at the end is a good added measure. The quality seems very good, no tearing, flexible, soft and durable material. Opens on three sides to install, which I did no my own. I just cleaned my floors well, laid the encasement down and open, placed the mattress on top, flipped the top over and zipped it up. If you have a one sided mattress, which most are these days, make sure the top of the mattress is on the terry side --- I didn't do this and ended up taking the encasement off and putting it on correctly. Don't try to put the encasement on with the mattress standing on edge or on end if you're doing it alone, it will be an exercise in futility. I work at a college and, because of the dorms, we've been educated about bed bugs. Because of this I might be a bit more cautious than many, but with bed bugs on the rise, I think these are a generally good idea --- especially in urban areas where your'e sharing cabs, trains and buses with the public. Anyone can bring them into a home, bed bugs don't care where you live or how much money you make. While the numbers are still on the human side (I believe something like 20% of households in the US either have had bed bugs or know someone first hand who has had bed bugs), once they're in your home the odds flip, so some forethought can be a good thing. *As with all encasements, you should know that these won't repel bed bugs, it will just prevent them from taking up residence in their favorite place, which is your bed and, most commonly, your box springs.

Fits well. I like it.
This was one of the few mattress protectors that had a different supported mattress thickness for the same bed size. Slightly larger for my matress but much better than the one I had before. The cloth finish on the top is a nice touch, making sleeping a tad mode comfortable. The opening was extremely generous which led to an easy installation. From the looks of it, it seems as durable as any other waterproof/bug-proof encasements though. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Cheaper than Wal-Mart's offering, and higher quality.
This encasement exceeded expectation. I bought an encasement from Walmart a few months ago for $50 CAD. That one felt really plasticky. It sounded like a windbreaker jacket. Super cheap feeling. This one felt WAY nicer, was super quiet and super easy to install. Fabric feels great. Velcro around the zipper end was great. Zipper did feel a bit delicate.. But luckily nothing bad happened with it. Terry cloth on top makes it feel like there's nothing extra there once you've got sheets on the bed.
