Feel very safe
It is very easy to install. Looks clean, not clunky. Works perfect- you cannot get around it; adds an extra level of security to the garage.

Glad to have the added security
These are easy to install, but I found that the set screw that holds the device to the โJ barโ (the metal piece that connects your opener to the door) wasnโt able to keep the device from sliding down after repeated door cycles. You can only tighten the screw so much because the plastic deforms. If your J bar has a hole in the right place, and the set screw goes into the hole, itโs probably no issue. I resolved mine by drilling an extra hole through the J bar at the right place and putting a small machine screw through that hole and securing it with a nut. You donโt want to tighten that too much, because again, itโs plastic. To be sure the not doesnโt come loose, I put some siliconized latex caulk over the threads before I put the nut on. That will allow me to take it off if I ever need to. I also elected to leave a small loop of the rope that allows you to release the trolley if you have to manually open the door. The loop isnโt big enough to be able to grab from the outside because the shield does its job very well. I have a dowel with a screw eye in it hanging in my garage, and if I need to pull the level down to release the door from the trolley, thatโs the tool Iโll use. Itโs a good item. Glad I bought two of them.

Good Circumvention but Overpriced
Seemingly works as intended. "Fishing" a coat hanger above the garage door and around it would appear to be difficult, if not impossible. However, as it's just a molded piece of plastic (with plastic fittings and cheap turn screw) it's significantly overpriced for what it is... but since this a documented tactic that thieves try, you need to have a circumvention in placeโwhether this, something similar, or a homemade hack. At time of purchase, the seller (The Garage Shield) shipped in flimsy mail padder, charged $6 for shipping, and didn't have the "Garage Shield" sticker actually on product.

Just what the customer ordered!!
This was a particular product that my customer wanted. He did not feel comfortable ordering one, so asked if I would get it. Came a day before expected and was extremely simple to install. No tools needed, except for a ladder(vertically challenged) to be able to reach the over head door opener. It is only plastic, but I understand the reason behind that. It will give my customer the piece of mind they were looking for!

All plastic components make it impossible to install securely - Did not work at all (details w/pictures)
I don't have a problem with the fact that this is plastic it terms of efficacy. It's meant to deflect a coat hanger (or similar) and if it would actually install correctly, I would have been satisfied. However... it would not install correctly on my garage door opener. There is nothing particularly unusual about my Chamberlain Belt Drive garage door opener. The problem is you can't tighten it enough to prevent it from sliding down the arm of the opener. This is where all plastic components become a problem. You are using friction here - the screw just presses against the arm, it doesn't go into a hole. This is further exacerbated by the fact then when you do try and tighten it, the plastic bends so that the notch at the top of the shield contacts the arm assembly. This doesn't interfere with the opening/closing but it probably has something to do with helping the shield slide down the arm. I did watch the installation video. I attached the plastic strap with the screw in the lower right position as pictured in the directions and one photo here. However, you can see in some of the other photos here that the screw is shown on the left-top side. I actually took apart the arm, pulled apart the shield, put it all back together to try swapping it over to the other side in case that made a difference. It didn't. I attached the strap to the second set of holes exactly how the instructions show. I know the other holes are there too but it the second set of holes did put the shield at the highest strap position in what seemed to match the video and written instructions. I have attached photos and the color of the circle in each is different: *GREEN: This is how it's supposed to be, right up against the carriage with the rail inside the notch. I was able to get it to stay here when I installed it. I was happy and ready to prevent thievery! Sleep even better tonight! But... it wasn't to be. *RED: This is where it ended up after one open/close no matter how tight I screwed it on. I tried going with not tightening it as much to see if that mattered. It did reduce the bend (see purple circle) but it just made it slide down even easier. *PURPLE: This is how the strap piece bent when I tightened the screw. The problem here is this is what causes the notch to not remain centered under the rail. It leans to one side. *YELLOW: Here you see how the screw just turns at an angle downward and won't press straight against the bar. I tried screwing it in slowly and actually applying pressure to keep it straight on the bar. Nope. (sorry for the blurry picture) Now I have to forcibly pull it apart or take apart the garage door arm to get it off and return it. I'll give it that - it doesn't come off easily! I don't know how it worked for the people that are satisfied. I'm only saying it didn't work for me. If these pictures appear to show a garage door assembly similar to yours, I would not but this product.

Does what it is supposed to and easy to install.
Does what it is supposed to and easy to install. I donโt understand the negative reviews. A bit expensive for plastic parts. They probably would be cheaper if they produced more quantity.

Clever and inexpensive burglary prevention !
UPDATED review: So simple to install, that I installed it backwards! Tried to contact the company that makes it, through their website's email support link, to no avail. My initial dissatisfaction was more about that lack of support responsiveness, than about the design or function of the product, as it appears to be a reasonable solution that will frustrate would-be burglars trying to get into your garage quickly. My fault for installing it wrong, but the instructional picture and the installation verbiage are lousy. Went to the website to view the install video after I realized the product was probably backwards, and the video was much better, so start there before you install it! I had a live chat support session today and the agent offered to send replacement fastening pins, and offered me a discount on the purchase of several of these for friends' Christmas presents.

Over -priced
Installed easily but when you see the simplicity of design and plastic material, the product is over-priced.
