THAT is not what i expected.Did I pick this up because i thought it would be a light hearted romance series? yes. Am I disappointed that it is exactly the opposite of light hearted? honestly..not? This was something i didn't know I needed T_TBut then again I probably wouldn't have picked this up if somebody had given me the brief beforehand:'A book about two addicts being dependent on each other, pretending to have a healthy life and dating. While in reality, they're infact not okay; absolutely spiralling, going off the deep end and enabling each other.'i would've just said heck no. But here we are.I mean anybody who has been on the book side of twitter or tiktok knows about the addicted series. I've watched the fandom from afar and desperately tried to keep myself spoiler free. I've seen how much the fandom loves the characters and how they talk about them like they're best friends; so it's really really great to finally know what they're talking about when they say 'lilo'.First things first, I absolutely loved how the author portrays their addictions. it's not glorified in any way whatsoever and shown for what it is, which I really liked. The only complaint I had was the lack of plot; It was extremely character-driven and focused on either their addictions or introducing other characters.Speaking of characters, I love, love, love Lily and Lo:( my heart breaks for them < / 3 and i hope they get the happy ending they deserve. Their entire situation was so terrible that i wasn't even mad at them honestly. just found myself hoping they'd tell somebody. anybody, about their issues. I agree that this book could've been shorter in terms of how repetitive it was, but then i also felt like their recurring, unchanging nature was a more realistic portrayal of their problems and helped me get to know the characters and their thoughts better.Wait for me.” The words come out choked and pained. “I need you to wait for me.”And ROSE AND CONNOR. AHHH. I love them, i'm so excited for the calloway sisters books to see more of their relationship. I hope the author goes back and shows us their phone calls and events from now because I want to know so bad, how everything exactly played out.Coming to Ryke; he was just plain weird throughout, which i get now, i guess. But I had mixed feelings about him somehow. I also saw the said 'plot twist' coming from a mile away from the amount of foreshadowing there was bahahaFinal thoughts:All in all, it's a great prologue to the series where the author introduces us to the characters and their world. I've heard the books progressively get better and I'm so so excited to read them all:)

After a long time, I finally read this super hyped book! Lemme tell you about the things you will find in here-1) Single POV and first person narration 🌝2) Forced proximity 🏡3) Two MCs having darker sides 🌚4) Amazing side characters 💅5) First book in the series 💫The MCs are in fake relationship to cover up the dark sides of eachother from their families. But my heart goes to the side characters of this book💕 Rose and Connor 🌝✨ even Ryke too ❤️The characters of this book are the young generation of families worth millions thus each character is described finely, i somewhere felt the age group wasn't appropriate but it's just the book 1 so let's see what's in the upcoming books.The book is quite fast paced and with each chapter, it keeps getting better and better but for the side characters.

I absolutely loved it. Loren has my heart 🤍. They irritated me, made me cry and laugh. Lily nd Lo are just so good.I'm excited for 2nd book. Loren definitely made it to my top mmc. I absolutely devoured the book and get the hype around it. I loved Connor and Rose, excited to know more about Ryke.

The pain 😭😭😭 ..... their love 🥺 No one knows them better than each other. For better or worse, they're both good and bad for each other.

They're just so vulnerable and messy and not perfect but still it's impossible to not love them . To not feel for them . The insecurities of lily makes her so relatable and the vulnerability of lo makes me just wanna hug him and hold him till all the pain is gone. They are real people to me.

There should be something "heroine"-ish in the heroine and something heroic about the hero.Especially when you are reading a book assuming it is a romance novel.If you like psychotic characters with deep insecurities, you may like this book.I found it hard to understand or like two pathetic people like the leads of this book.
