Plugable USB 3.0 Dual Monitor Horizontal Docking Station for Windows

Wanted this as I was replacing old mac mini with a macbook and wanted to continue using desktop screens keyboard etc. Easy to set up once software downloaded and now easy to use desktop setup with ease.

Dopo aver aspettato per mesi invano la commercializzazione in Italia della docking station di Microsoft per il Surface 2 Pro, mi sono deciso ad acquistare questa docking di Plugable, spinto dalle recensioni positive scritte all'estero. Le mie perplessità che mi hanno trattenuto inizialmente erano tre: - funzionerà al primo colpo o dovrò litigare con i driver? - l'usb 3 che collega la docking al Surface 2 Pro sarà sufficiente come banda (per monitor, rete, hd esterno, ecc)? - il dover collegare due cavi, usb per la docking e alimentatore per il Surface 2 Pro (il surface NON si ricarica attraverso la docking, ho comprato un alimentatore extra a parte per il surface) sarà una scocciatura? Quando l'ho collegata, ho avuto un attimo di panico: Windows 8 ha riconosciuto la docking al primo colpo, ha installato i driver, mi sono comparse una serie di periferiche nuove (il monitor esterno, ecc.), ma niente di quello che era collegato alla docking funzionava. Dopo di che ho adottato la classica soluzione da informatico: ho riavviato Windows (anche se Windows, dopo l'installazione dei driver, non mi chiedeva il riavvio). Dopo il reboot, Windoiws ha completato l'installazione dei driver e tutto ha funzionato a meraviglia.

Da ich auf der Suche nach einem tragbaren Ersatz für meinen alten Laptop war und mir das Konzept einer Dockingstation aus dem Büro sehr gefällt, habe ich mich zunächst nach Rechner mit einem standardisierten Dock umgesehen. Andererseits gefiel mir das Surface Pro 2 sehr und so stieß ich bei Recherchen auf dieses Dock. Da ich mit 2 Monitoren arbeite war die Version mit Dual Video am interessantesten. Trotz der Skepsis, wie ein USB 3.0 Ausgang all das abbilden soll, habe ich mir das Plugable UD-3900 gekauft um es zu testen. Und es hat sich gelohnt! Die Installation ist kinderleicht: Ohne Strom alle Geräte anschließen, USB Kabel verbinden, Stromanschluss herstellen und alles installiert sich von alleine in wenigen Sekunden. 5/5 Sternen Alle Erwartungen wurden zu 100% erfüllt: Ich betreibe 2x Full HD Bildschirme, eine externe USB 5.1 Soundkarte, Maus, Tastatur, Ethernet Kabel und bei Bedarf über einen weiteren USB 3.0 Hub diverse andere Geräte (bspw. eine externe Festplatte oder einen USB Stick mit bis zu 90 MB/s Schreibgeschwindigkeit) parallel - ohne Probleme. 5/5 Sternen Der Hersteller ist auch noch eine Perle: Auf eine Nachfrage zur Verfügbarkeit direkt über die Webseite wurde in Minuten geantwortet - zugegeben auf Englisch und im Rahmen der amerikanischen Arbeitszeiten. Trotzdem Top Support: 5/5. Summa summarum nichts auszusetzen, verdiente 5/5 Sterne in allen Belangen! //Bearbeitet am 12.11.2015: Ich würde zum heutigen Zeitpunkt die Bewertung auf eine 10/5 erhöhen. Der Kundenservice ist wohl der Beste, der mir in allen Jahren des Online Shoppings begegnet ist. Super freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter, die Webseite an sich ist aber meistens schon gut genug. Wenn jemand ein gutes Dock sucht, dann dieses!

Produto muito bom. Instalação simples e rápida, sem complicações. A entrega também surpreendeu, chegou antes do prazo informado. Recomendo!

Bought this to use with a Surface Pro tablet. I need to be able to run two monitors and some USB peripherals. The Microsoft OEM equivalent is another £50 and I needed better value for money. Not much desk space and so the tower design was more attractive than some of the "brick" alternatives. The unit feels good quality, nice gloss finish on the case. It's reasonably sturdy, but I did need to blu-tak the base to my desk to stop it being moved around by the weight of cables connected to it and to avoid having to hold it down while plugging into the USB ports. It plugged and played pretty much straight out of the box, after a quick driver update. I did have an issue getting two displays connected, which I think was user error on my part and sorted out by restarting the PC. I logged a ticket with Plugable support and was pleased to get a response overnight and some suggestions to cure the problem, but this wasn't necessary. However, good to know support is there. I'm running two monitors (one on HDMI port, one DVI-HDMI) , speakers, a Logitech MX mouse and keyboard all the time and occasionally a webcam, optical drive and external HDD from the unit with no problems. I've been able to run three screens (Surface and monitors) successfully but don't use this configuration. Occasionally the Surface is replaced by a Lenovo laptop, this has also just plugged and played with no trouble. I've not tried to connect the Ethernet port, but have no reason to doubt this would work. Although the advert says it doesn't support charging, I've been able to charge a phone from the USB sockets but haven't tried with anything larger. Only drawback is that there's no USB 3.0 ports on the back, if I was using the external HDD all the time this would make the installation a bit more untidy, but I don't so it's a moot point. Very happy with the unit and at this price, can't fault it and can't see any obvious alternatives for my requirements.
