Very well built product
Really liked the product; well built of solid steel and easy to assemble. Installation difficulty depends on installation material: Wood- I lag screwed mine into deck stairs; cement could be trickier. However, the manufacturer needs to rethink the packaging. the 3 main parts were all wrapped in mini-bubble wrap. Did an excellent job protecting the finish.Unfortunately, the weighty decorative top piece with curled ends was able to slide back and forth in the package putting considerable dents (1 side only) in both thin steel pieces that cover the mounting plates. I did not consider the damage to significantly impact my good impression of this product.Manufacturer may have to use styrofoam (yuck), but have to control that top piece during shipping. Maybe zip tie the 3 pieces together.

Good Product
Easy installation. Some other reviews had issues with the hardware provided but I used what came with the item and it was fine. Wish the instructions were better but otherwise I am very happy with it.I recommend renting a hammer drill from your hardware store. The drill bit provided worked fine with it.

Good quality product
My husband installed this for when we have visitors with mobility needs. He says:Product was packaged well, top rail was heavier and higher quality than he expected. You will need a 1/2" hammer drill and a 3/8" masonry bit if installing into concrete, as the supplied bit is not adequate to the task. (If installing into wood you should have additional bits for making pilot holes, we cannot comment further as we installed in concrete only.)If you don't have these tools already, budget $150-ish extra for this project (we bought a Dewalt corded hammer drill and a Milwaukee bit). With the right tools, allow about 30 minutes for easy installation. Will see how this rail holds up over time. Husband feels the anchor bolts supplied should hold up for many years. He liked how the supports were attached with pivot points to the top rail - do not tighten these until after you've secured the support bases to your mounting surface. He adds "the instructions are crap."Would purchase again if we had a similar need.

Just what we needed!
We needed to add a banister to the two steps down from our house to the patio. This was just what we needed: sturdy and easy to install, although I did have to buy two more drill bits before I could finish drilling the anchor holes. Maybe the bricks in our steps and patio are harder than expected? Regardless, installation took me three hours. Someone with the right tools would have been faster.

Hand rail for our home.
This is an excellent product. It is well-made out of iron and powder coated. It has everything in the kit to install the rail, except for a drill. It is stand alone and very sturdy and easily handles someone with a disability, which is why I bought it. I wish I had put one in long ago, it's good for everybody walking down the stairs.

If installing in concrete, don’t use enclosed drill bit
The drill bit is a ‘12’. The anchor screws are a ‘10’. They don’t work together to secure the railing into the concrete. Well, for a moment. On top of being metric, impossible to find a SAE off the shelf fix. Having to hire a pro for a simple railing. At least the holes are drilled, just way to big. NICE

Incorrect fastener hardware and or concrete drill bit
The concrete drill bit was too large for the fasteners and i did not realize it until I marked for the holes and drilled them . when I started to tap the fasteners in the holes they just fell to the bottom , I had to go to the ace hardware store to get an alternative fastener . Also when i did get it together I had to shim the hand railsingle screw fastener because they were boteh a little V shaped and would not pull together and caused the hand rail to just flop back and forth while using it. I want to purchase 2 more but before I do I want to find out if they are all like that and need to be shimmed and need to by the correct size concrete drill bit myself.
