Yes they work and they hold up ! But !!! They are way too long to be practical. I need them extra long for a special application so they are 5 stars for meeting my need but for general use they are too long and unstable due the the physics.

I purchased this for use with my DeWalt DW616 router mounted on a BOSCH RA1181 router table. I used this combo to clean up the edges on some 2X4 pine boards to create a cheap table top. All was going well until I hit a few denser sections of wood (knots and curls) and the bit deflected pretty significantly in the router. So badly that it actually hit the fence. I thought it was a one time even as it returned to center and seemed to be spinning well. I stopped the router and checked the bit. I saw photos of bent bits and wanted to make sure nothing like that had happened. The initial deflections I had attributed to me moving through the wood too fast so I slowed my progress through the wood down to a crawl, wherein I would push about 1 foot per minute. Even then the bit would chatter and bounce off the wood. It got worse very fast and I'd encounter a bounce about every few inches. On my first few pieces, the bit cut through the wood no problem and I didn't have to be careful about pace. After about 20 board feet had passed by the blade, I think the blade started to dull. As I cut about 10 more board feet, this got to where the blade was consistently deflecting, every couple inches making for a hazardous and poor finish. Given the rate at which it had lost its edge and how bad the deflections are, I stopped using it and will be buying a 1/2" shank bit and one that holds an edge better. So buyer beware, you get what you pay for and given the photos out there, the consequences of being cheap can be quite severe. Saving a couple dollars only to receive a nasty injury is not dollars well saved.

I should have known that a long straight bore with the 1/4-inch diameter would potentially flex and chatter when cutting a slot. Taking a light edge cut was more stable.

Yes, these router bits work.Great.I had to enlarge a couple holes on a boat.So I could put new rod holders in there, and I had to enlarge the hole.And it worked great, I just had to do a little bit

I strongly discourage anyone from buying these bits. The 1/4” collet is not strong enough for the length of these bits. I ran the bit for less than 30 seconds and barely touched wood to it before it bent at the base. Thankfully, it didn’t break completely. So, there is that. It might be fine on a variable speed router on the lowest setting, but I wouldn’t risk it.
