Awesome food; Beautiful Fur; Great for Weight Management; Happy Kitties!
I've been feeding this food to my cats for about two years now, and despite some variances in consistency every so often, the cats love it. And I love it because it's so good that I never have to brush my longhair cat's fur as it's just so fine and soft she can take care of it herself. She doesn't even get any furballs - like I've literally never seen one. I took her to the vet a while ago and they asked how often I brush her and when I told them I'd brushed her once in the year I'd had her they looked at me like I had two heads because they never see cats with such nice fur naturally. I feed them each of my two cats a 3oz can each in the morning and at night. My other cat was overweight by quite a bit as well; the minute I started him on this wet food he started to lose weight. Now he's at the perfect weight and is happier than he's ever been (still lazy as a sloth, but that's just his personality). I highly recommend this food, but I do wish I could give half stars because this would be a 4.5 just because of the slight inconsistency in the food itself, but I do love it and that's what 5 stars means on Amazon, so that's what it gets. It's a little pricier than some other foods, but I'm firmly in the camp of "You get what you pay for", and with this food it's apparent from the ingredient list that you're paying for some good stuff. Not to mention the vet bills that I won't incur because of a bad diet.

Great, high quality cat food
Regarding the 3-, 2-, and 1-star reviews because the car didn't like it or "got bored": come on!... cats are notoriously picky eaters. Food and flavors that one cat loves, twenty others will turn up their tiny noses at the same. I don't think this high quality product deserves a crappy review because someone's cat simply wouldn't eat it. Also, regarding protein content, check out any independent study by university veterinary researchers for the pros and cons of wet vs dry food. Wet food can be a better option for elderly cats with teeth or gum issues, the higher moisture content is of benefit to cats with kidney or urinary problems, and is easier to digest. It's also more expensive and has a short shelf-life once the can is opened. Dry food is typically cheaper, an opened bag stores longer much, you can easily track portion control for chubby cats, and leave out dry food for cats to self-feed throughout the day(s).My cat is 17 years old. He has cardiomyopathy, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, and allergies. Because of the cardiac issues, he hasn't been put under anesthesia for a dental cleaning in years so his dental health is less than optimal. He ate dry kibble for the last 15 years, but once that became uncomfortable for him, we switched to combo dry and wet, and now just wet food. Instinct Ultimate Protein Grain Free Recipe (chicken) is made in US, with high quality protein sources vs the animal by-products and corn or grain fillers of other cat foods. My old cat loves it and has regained some weight while eating only this food. So, 5-stars from Seamus and me.

Good Quality Product
I have an older cat who has a tendency to have diarrhea. I have had her to the vet twice now and all her tests show she is a healthy cat, except for this digestive issue. Initially the vet suggested a prescription diet. Those prescription diets are expensive and I didn't want to go that route. I found Ideal Balance and that worked great for her. The cat and I were both happy. Then, unexpectedly, the Hill company recently stopped making Ideal Balance. A very unhappy cat Mom! Took her to the vet again, she is still healthy but with diarrhea. Vet put her on that very expensive prescription diet and that gave her gas and a bellyache. After much searching I found Instinct and I am trying her on the moist food product. So far she is doing well. Her stools are still soft but not diarrhea. No gas and no indication of belly pain like before. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we have found a food she can tolerate! The product looks good. She loves the taste and I am hopeful we have found the answer for her.

Cat loves but price is way too high
This is all my 15-year old cat has eating for about 10 years, but its price increases are crazy and I can't afford it. Shopped around and got it on Chewy for a little less, but not anymore.

Finally, a canned Rabbit my guys will eat. NOT.
Updated: While I love this food and think it's one of the best out there, it only took 3 weeks before Moon's dandruff and itching started. Apparently his allergies include FLAXSEED. So he's back to eating only the hydrolyzed pork and the kangaroo meat diet.Let me preface this review by saying that I only use canned food as supplemental feeding. My one cat has assorted allergies and intolerances and he is a stone maker, so the primary diet in the house is a zero carb, low mineral dry formula, (yes. Zero Carb <1%) but I like them to get a little moisture from canned food every day if I can. My cat has issues with beef, fish, egg, and lamb that we know of, and we need to keep his carbs on the lowest possible end because of the crystals. I have tried pretty much every rabbit on the market, including Instinct's other formulas to no avail. If my cat even smells peas or pumpkin, it's over. This one does have peas, but they are so far down the ingredient list, the trace amount doesn't seem to put him off. Right now they eat a dry hydrolyzed pork and a wet LID Kangaroo diet but I like to have a mix of protein sources. This Rabbit went over gang-busters even if it is a little higher in the carb range than I would prefer on a dry matter basis.I also am thankful that this comes in the small 3oz cans. My guys will not touch food that has been refrigerated. It changes the smell of the food, so they won't eat it even if I let it get to room temp. The tiny cans work better because I can put a lid on them and leave the unfinished portion on the counter until the dinner meal. No waste. No refusal.
