Q: Where is it made? What parts are plastic?

I don't know where Capresso manufactures, call them in NJ and they can answer that for you. The coffee pot handle and lid are plastic. The bean holder lid is plastic and the water container is plastic. The basket is plastic. All BPA free.

Q: How often do you need to clean the grounds between the grinder and the filter? Does it ever plug?

Burr grinders can get plugged, but you can use compressed air in a can to blow out the burrs. My machine has yet to be clogged and it’s been about a year that I have had it.

Q: Can you easily access the water tank for refill without having to move the whole unit? Is the access from the side or back?

We found that it was easier to just use a pitcher to fill the tank rather than remove the tank or move the unit.

Q: I need a new water tank for this machine. Where can I buy one?

In 2008, Jura AG became the sole owner and parent of all U.S. Capresso and Jura Capresso operations. I could find nothing on either website about a replacement water tank, so the only other thing to check out is customer service links on both sites. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
