New rear shocks did the trick. KYB seems to be a decent brand and priced well with positive reviews.
KYB REAR SHOCKS......Purchased for a 2010 Mazda5 with 129,000 miles. Had issue with vehicle "shaking" over little bumps in the road. I could feel the vibration through out the whole car. I first changed the rear stabilizer bar links as I could see a ripped boot on one. Still "shaking".The rear shocks were the next project. They are easy to remove. I assume these were the original factory shocks. There are several you-tube videos on removal and installation for Mazda3 and Mazda5. My vehicle did not have any rust on the bolts so no issues there. WD40 anyway to make things easier. Took less than 2 hours to replace both shocks in my driveway. The passengers side old shock seemed OK but the drivers side was defiantly bad. The drivers side was more of a struggle to install. It almost seems like the new shock is short for that side. I had to back down the top mount nuts an inch to bolt in the single lower bolt then tighten the top nuts again. Maybe a Mazda design flaw? Again the old drivers side was the one that was bad, so only time will tell how long the new KYB will last. Took for a test run and WOW what a huge difference the "shake" is gone. I also purchased the KYB shock mount but wound up using the old original mount.

Great shocks!
Replaced the factory ones from a 2006 Mazda3 2.0L with these ones. Great set of shocks. Very easy to install and no fitment issues with the lower mount at all. Just remember to support the axle with a jack and raise it so the holes line up. You will likely have it raised already when you removed the old shock so keep it there. You'll know when they've lined up because the bolt gets easier to remove and reinstall. I've had zero installation issues with this shock. Some tips before you go and remove the old shock. Spray the two top mounting bolts with PB Blaster or some form of liquid wrench. They will help break it loose. You'll need some deep sockets and an extension as well. They aren't torqued on there too tightly. Around 21ft lbs. I also bought the mounting bracket to replace the old one. The factory one is 12 years old. After removing it and inspecting it, there are indications of it degrading so they were replaced. Took it out for a test drive and it tracked well. The loud clunk in the rear is gone as the OEM shocks were well past the worn stage.

Excellent replacement for stock shocks - Easy install
Replaced both stock struts, one blown and leaking. Ride, noise and steering very solid again. These are great replacement struts and shocks, with a slightly stiffer ride, but solid handling feel with the stock springs to keep stock height. All the brackets in perfect position, high quality welds and everything installed right back to stock specs perfectly. Note- replaced the strut mounts (front) and upper mounts (for rear shocks), strut bellows/boots and a few sway bar bushings to get everything done and leave nothing to chance for noises and bumps and creaks, everything nice and tight and quiet. Amazon carried all these parts and for much less than our local auto parts shop prices. Amazon with PRIME will get plenty of my business with their great prices and good brand names and quality products.

Great quality replacement
Great quality for the price. I used them on a Mazda 3 hatch. Easy to install and made a world of difference.

Perfect rear replacement shocks for my 2008 Mazda 3 hatchback.
These shocks installed fairly easily on my 2008 Mazda 3 hatchback for the rear (you'll need struts for the front), and this was the first time I've done this. The ride is noticeably better. Most people who have a floor jack, a metric socket set and ratchet wrench, and torque wrench, can probably install these on their own without having to go to a professional. Bear in mind that you'll need a deep socket to remove the two nuts that hold the mount that the top of the shock is connected to, because of how long the two bolts are that hold the mount in place. There are plenty of videos online that can help, however most likely it'll take longer than what the video makes it appear to take.

Replacement Strut for my 2006 Mazda 3 2.3L Manual Transmition.
Replacement strut for my 2006 Mazda 3 2.3L Manual Transmition. I replaced my struts back on 2012. They have been installed for almost 2 years. Love them. Resotred my factory ride as the previous struts were all starting to die. Replaced the struts around 100K miles. Only recommendation... Make sure you replace the rear mounts for the struts. I should have done it then and didnt. My strut mounts now broke and its a rather pain to have to take the strut out again to replace the mount. Hind sight. I would have replaced the mount at the same time. Other than that. The strut has performed very well. Have about 30K miles on them. Still working great!

Excelent OE replacment shock
Put this item on the rear of my 2010 Mazda 5 with 59000 miles. The factory shocks had started to leak and one was not functioning at all and was making a clunking sound. Bought these KYB because of past experience with this brand and once again they proved to be better than OE fitment. Direct fit and they soak up bumps better than when the car was new. Also good bye clunking sound. Amazon has this product for the best price out there. I saved $51 a shock compared to the local auto parts store for the same part number. Great deal!

KYB brand not what it use to be?
2009 Mazda 5 Like all auto parts, check before installing. I recently had 4 of these in hand, two of them were no good. Either they did not return to an extended position after being compressed, or there was no resistance when being compressed. Not good.. I may just buy the no name brands in the future if paying more does not warrant the quality you expect. Super easy to install and the two good shocks that were installed fixed all the issues. I am skeptical though on their longevity now. Shocks were made in Mexico.

I bought this shock absorber on 06/Nov/2020, installed it on my 2007 Mazda 3, and now it is leaking and making noise when I drive. I asked Amazon customer support for a replacement as it carries lifetime limited warranty. However, if I accept the replacement this is an one-time replacement only. I opted for a refund, which Amazon agreed. I will buy a replacement locally.

Easy job everything went easy. They’re a good replacement for stock shocks at 1/2 the price

Too much smooth for a mazdaspeed 3, i hate to be understeer. Mix front excel-g and rear gas-a-just one for best handling performance. I asked for a refund
