Sweet fan and beautiful light.
Really beautiful fan and light. Well balanced, sturdy construction. Instructions are a little iffy -- you should read them all the way through before you start. The only drawback (and it's a big one for me) is that if the fan is on, the light has to be on, and there's no dimming or turning it off; so you can't let the fan run while you're sleeping, or while you're watching a movie with the lights dimmed. Plus, it uses more energy to have the light on and wears the bulbs faster.I'm going to call Hampton Bay and see if maybe there's an alternate wiring solution to fix this problem.EDIT: they were very helpful. It was a common problem. The light switch that the ceiling light was connected to had a dimmer switch. Swapped it out for a regular switch and the light functions great (with dimming, and independently of the fan) without the dimmer wall switch. Only caveat is that the bulbs are small and not incredibly bright, but this could change as LED bulbs advance.
