Mexican Style Wide Brim Straw Hat

That's hat is awesome! Blocks the Sun even off your shoulders! People live it!

I was expecting it to come ruined in the mail. However, it unfolded perfectly, the stitching was fantastic, and it looked great. I highly recommend for anybody living in sunny areas. Be sure to apply a decent layer of oil to preserve it, however, because it's dry.

Everyone you know and love will give you a hard time for such a massive hat. You will love every comment and delight in mentioning it back to them when they have a sunburn and you do not. Sun seems to have harsher and harsher impact with each year and this hat, this hat will have none of that. It borders on absurd with it's styling and circumference. It's well worth it. When I look at the product photos, the one I received is the darker looking color, so perhaps folks are getting two different hats. Some have said it is plasticky or not of high quality, and I'd have to disagree. I believe the fibers were given a clear coat of some protective substance (maybe a shellac). It doesn't smell bad, and the lining of the brim is secure and comfortable. The lanyard is also appropriate for windy conditions.I welcome odd comments or compliments from passersby as I understand the purpose of this hat: To defy the sun and do it while looking somewhat silly by conventional standards. I saw someone wearing nearly the same hat and I shouted to them from across the way that I loved it. They too remarked about how everyone gave them crap for it, but that it was the best way to keep cooler and avoid sun damage. I consider this a "dad hat" because everyone else thinks they're too cool for a silly sun hat, but dads... they know the score.

If you need a hat that shades an entire zip code, this is it. It is comfortable and effective, providing that it is not windy....seriously-- even with the "stampede strings" around your chin, this hat will want to take off in even a moderate breeze and you will find the strings around your neck with the hat flapping behind you or chasing it across the field. One aesthetic point is that on the hat I received, the side curls on the brim were noticeable asymmetrical, but with time and wear, they have evened out a bit.

Love the hat but it arrived with brim distorted. Would be nice if it had been shipped in a box designed to protect the shape of the hat.

Only worn twice and is unraveling

This is the second hat I bought from this seller, I only get to wear my fist new hat once before my bother saw it and seize it from me. Second hat arrive quickly the wide brim really keep me out of the sun and wile feel cool at the same time it makes me look cool, so my wife said. The straw hat fit well, not heavy like my other outback hat and it's pretty good quality. The seller was prompt and super courteous answering my questions and addressing my concern immediately. I'll be buying two more for my sons right before our up coming vacation.

I bought this for my husband as a pool/work hat and he loves it. Turns out it looks good on everyone so I ended up buying 5 more for his brothers and dad. Highly recommend! I don’t know how durable it will be with long term sun exposure but for the price you can’t beat it.I will say, the guys say the leather straps kind of get in the way, but they are removable so it’s not a big deal
