I've only had it a few days now, and I'm using it with my new Amazon Dot. It works pretty well and has good sound quality for the music I like to listen too. I'm a little surprised it doesn't get a little louder from the reviews, but its loudness is adequate so far. It doesn't seem to fully charge, however, as the charging light never goes out even after leaving charging overnight. Since it doesn't come with a charger, and only a cord, I am using a phone charger for it. I don't really know what is ideal, and it should probably come with its own charger...Added later: I meant to come back here and update. Anker contacted me as they saw I wasn't completely happy and replaced my speaker. I have been using the new speaker since and it is charging fine. The sound quality is actually quite good and I can happily recommend the speaker and the company. It;'s nice when a vendor makes a little extra effort.

I did a lot of reading on reviews and comparisons of speakers before deciding on this one. And I am not disappointed with this purchase.The speaker design is nice. I bought the white one because at the time it was about $20 cheaper than the black one. The buttons are nice to touch and easy to operate. Operation is pretty straight forward and I had no trouble pairing with my cel phone and iPod touch, or even PC and laptop.What I like: The sound! I enjoy good bass on music and these speakers have good sounding bass for their size. Of course, don't expect blasting bass or anything to vibrate, but the low frequencies are perceptible and that's just what I like. Mids sound good as well, they will fill up a small room pretty nicely and also sound ok in open spaces. Highs are a bit muted, but overall are ok. Battery is good, I have yet to have them run out of power during a meeting, but if you plan to have them sounding all day then plan to connect the charger after about 5 hours since that's what the manual says they get. Bluetooth range is quite good, I can move around the house with the phone while the speakers are resting in a central position and don't lose a beat. They include 3.5 jack + cable in case you have a player that is not wireless. Build quality feels great, it's solid to the touch and feels resistant.What could be better: The power on sound is nice, but when the max volume is reached and you press the volume up button it will stop music for about 1-2 secs to play it's max volume audio and then keep playing. I'd rather not have that happen since it's annoying. Battery time would be nice if it lasted more, some speakers can go up to 10 hours or more without sacrificing size or weight.Overall: i'm very happy with these speakers and compared to my dad's Bose of the same size, the sound isn't as good, but it's definitely not $150+ less good.These are highly recommended.UPDATE: I'm lowering my score to 2 stars based on the battery usable life of this speaker. I've had this speaker for a little more than 2 years and the battery life has now gone down to less than 2 hours on a full charge (and going lower every week). I can understand that battery degrades over time, but 2 years is too little for this. I have a 808 CANZ speaker which I have since about 2012 and it's battery still lasts a lot longer than this ANKER one. I think this isn't acceptable battery life for any device of this kind. Charge cycles have been pretty standard as with any other device I have owned. I could forgive a degradation after about 5 years, but just 2 years is a disappointment.UPDATE 2: I'm now lowering to 1 star. I'm extremely disappointed with the design of this speaker. The battery completely died a few weeks after I posted the above update. I though that I could just use it as a stationary speaker with the battery dead, but NO! Anker decided that for the speaker to work the battery MUST be able to hold charge. When you plug the power in on when the battery is dead the power led just blinks quickly and the speaker does not power up. Basically, the design of this circuit is that the speaker is ONLY powered by the battery, not the charger. This is so unacceptable and disappointing. I had the battery replaced by a local tech and the speaker is now working again, but unfortunately the tech messed up one of the speakers trying to remove it and now the great sound is gone. Now it just sounds. Such a waste!

Perhaps this Anker shouldn't deserve ONE STAR. Maybe 2 or 3. but right now, this Anker bothers heck out of me.By the way, Anker sounds good. Good Bass, clear mid and somewhat detailed high. Sound quality and signature are pretty darn good, I must say. Then, why the ONE STAR?IT IS THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION!!!!I listen to a lot of youtube and other podcasts. And in many cases, I must stop the playing for few minutes, specially in the case of podcasts for learning languages. Then, after few min later on, I can not get it connected again. I have to close out the Window Media Player and re-start again or go to bluetooth setting and re-connect again. And sometimes, even that does not work. I have to close everything and start all over again. It is just a pain in the butt. I do not know whether I got a bad one or it is all supposed to be like that... I do not know.For me, it is a major disappointment.UPDATE June 26, 2018Anker contacted me about this issue and they sent me another model.I have been testing and using another model and I realized that there is no bluetooth disconnection problem with this new unit.I am happy with their excellent service and great bluetooth speaker.so I have upgraded from one star to five star for the speaker quality and specially for the great service from Anker members.

I received my first ANKER PREMIUM BLUETOOTH speaker as a gift. I paired it with an AMAZON DOT which was also a gift. I love both products so much that I purchased another DOT and ANKER speaker to use on another floor of my home. The first combination is fine. However, the second one presented challenges. After working in direct connected mode for 2 months, the speaker no longer worked. The reason I had connected it directly was because I couldn't get it to pair with DOT. I though, no worries, I'll use it connected. That worked for about 2 months. I researched what the blinking yellow light meant and realized the speaker wasn't charging. I contacted customer service via email and received a reply within 24 hours that my speaker was defective. I was given the choice to get a refund or a new speaker. Because, I like the speaker, I chose to receive another speaker.I think that the speaker gives good sound for the money. However at lower volumes (3) , the sound leaves a bit to be desired. My bedroom speaker is usually set to a volume of 3. I play soothing music in the evening. However, in the morning, when I ask ALEXA via my DOT for the time, the words are too muddled for me to understand them. Turning the volume higher resolves the issue.Exceptional customer service by ANKER. The communication was exceptional. They sent a return label for my defective speaker and sent out a new speaker as soon as there was confirmation that the speaker was mailed. I received my new speaker less than a week from initial contact. I am impressed with ANKER customer service.All in all, I am a very satisfied customer.

Not as powerful as I expected, bit lightweight on the sound-front, to be honest. Good for a small room.Following my comments above, I have since been given the upgraded Soundcore Boost speaker to trial, and this is a definite improvement on the above speaker. The Soundcore Boost has much greater quality and depth of sound, the bass-boost really helps the sound fill a larger space. The speaker paired with my phone within seconds, and the Wifi range is much greater - I was able to be ten yards away, with two walls between me and the speaker, and no loss of signal at all. A very noticeable improvement all-round.

My family has used this Stereo Bluetooth speaker for nearly a year and WOW its a cracker. This replaced out old and rather good sounding Jambox, until it developed the 3.5mm jack defect issue and refused to acknowledge or correct the problem. So buying Anker with its excellent Customer Service reassured me should something go wrong we'd be ok, and its been perfect. This speaker is loud although not screaming loud which is a good thing as its very controlled with tight rich bass and balanced trebble. All in an excellent speaker with great battery life. I bought this speaker for my bathroom as I like to listen to music while I'm in the bath.Excellent sound from such as small unit, but not as much bass as I had expected from other reviews. However, it's perfectly adequate for my requirements, and fills the room well on a fairly low setting.The charging cable is ridiculously short - it's only 60cm in total, which means in my home, I'm limited to which plugs/ surfaces I can use to charge it. I'm not sure how accurate the claim of 24 hours of usage is, as even as it's only used when I'm in the bath, there have been a couple of times the battery low light has illuminated when I've switched it on, even though there's not been 24 hours of play since last charge. I feel a reduction of a star rating is appropriate for these two points, which are minor, but still annoying.

This is an excellent Bluetooth portable speaker. It punches well above its size and cost. For moving around indoors and listening to your music from wherever it's sourced, this is a great device.Obviously, you won't get raucous thumping bass and ear-splitting volume, but at normal listening levels it provides a wide spectrum of detailed sound sufficient to fill average sized rooms comfortably. Connectivity is solid. It connects quickly to my S5 and TAB S as well as to my Panasonic TV. Range is good as it allows me to walk around the house moving the speaker from room to room without dropping connection.Battery life seems to be as advertised, though I expect it would fall below that if played at full volume. But who buys a TV, mobile phone or TV and plays them at a distorted volume...Overall, this represents excellent value and is highly recommended for those looking for a small portable speaker for listening to radio at normal listening volumes.

The sound from this compact speaker is excellent - far better than I'd expected from such a small package. Good bass response and clear mid-range. We use this in the bathroom with a Bluetooth link to any number of iPhones and iPads that the family own. On the rare summer days we can sit outside in the evening, we have this speaker streaming our iTunes or Spotify libraries. Well made and a good weight with a rubberised base, it's certainly on a par with big brand names costing at least twice as much. I can confirm that the battery life is easily eight hours of constant use and takes a couple of hours to recharge via the USB connection to a suitable charging point.
