How long does it take to charge the battery?

Thank you for your question. The solar cell and motor do not store energy. As soon as the solar panel comes into contact with sunlight or light from an incandescent bulb, the motor begins to spin and will continue to do so until it is no longer underneath the light source.

Great kit. Just needs bright sunlight

Was amazed how much incident light you need to turn the motor. Really only works in Summer and outside. Failing that, you have to smother it with a bright light. Wheels spin on hard surfaces such as tiled floors or laminate.
