Anyone experience it rusting? I received another brand as a gift and noticed there were small rust spots on the mesh & handle hinges

NOT DISHWASHER SAFE! I’ve had this for about a year. I works great. I had been hand washing it and letting it air dry after every use without issue. Over time, it developed some mild staining from the tannins in the tea, so I decided to put it in the dishwasher. Bad idea. Even thought I took it out as soon as the cycle completed, it was covered with tiny rust spots. It was ruined, but I learned my lesson. Regardless, I like this enough that I’ll be buying it again.

Are there strainer holes in the flat bottom of this?
