The best of New Mutants in the Krakoa era
The third writer tackling Kraków’s New Mutants is Vita Ayala. After struggling through the first two volumes, where the writers swapped every other issue, this is the first issue run that’s written solidly by one person… and it’s so good.Vita Ayala kills it. Mixing the OG New Mutants (minus a few notable exceptions) with the new generation, while introducing concepts like power synergy without the book feeling over-stuffed or split in focus. Plus it sets up the next big arc in a perfect way!

Best Of the Three "Volume Ones"
By far the most interesting concept of the three New Mutants runs for the new era.

Vita Ayala is a Visionary
After a long time away, I've came back to the X-Men when I heard buzz around Hickman's reboot. Of everything I've read and am reading coming out of the X-Office right now, New Mutants is my absolute favorite.Ayala has a huge task in front of them: Write a book called "New Mutants" that includes the original New Mutants + Generation X stragglers who haven't found a home elsewhere + Our friends from Academy X + the actually new mutants currently discovering their powers and coming to Krakoa. One book for so many characters with so much publication history-- how do they do it?I don't know the answer to that. I just know that Ayala and the New Mutants team consistently publish stories that are complex, accessible, thoughtful, and beautiful. They've brought into the light characters who've been in the shadows way too long (Karma), they've revitalized characters who other writers have used as punching bags for decades (Rahne), they've made me care about characters I've never heard of before (...all of Academy X).Ayala is a brilliant storyteller and the support of a collaborative X-Office has enabled them to write a story that is as much satisfyingly-nostalgic as it is innovative and forward thinking. You should read this.

Worst of the three "Vol 1"
Don't know what was going on with New Mutants that there's three Vol 1 tpbs, but this was the worst. The water color-esque art style was awful and the story didn't hold my attention. Didn't even finish

Came in in bad shape!
The story is great!!nice take on the New Mutants adventure! But sadly the book came in looking used... The shiny plastic kind of cover on it (see pics) is ripping. I know it was already like this when packaged, cause the book I ordered with it was in perfect shape...
