I bought it when it still had...problems. When this cam was released the auto focus was entirely non-functional, something you'll likely see a lot in the reviews. For good reason. I wound up setting the focus manually, and if you did it was a great camera. The "HDR" (it's not true HDR) function is awesome, really useful in challenging light situations. This is a webcam you can throw into most rooms, click the "auto" buttons, and get a solid and usable picture. Dark rooms, bright rooms, dark rooms with a bright spot, no issues. From what I can tell it accomplishes this by running dual exposure settings, on alternating frames, and blending that into a single 30fps image. But I'm not a camera expert. I just know it can "contain" bright spots to avoid washing out the rest of the image, and reduces those bright spots to avoid overexposure. Specifically, it does a great job with bright spots on my bald head! Laugh it up, but it's a real challenge sometimes. The 60fps mode is also good, though you lose the "HDR" option. So as long as you can control and tune your lighting situation for it, you can get a solid 1080p60 video out of this. It's sharp, the colors are good, no complaints. It doesn't do 4K. You probably don't need to do 4K. For live streaming or teleconferencing, you absolutely don't need to do 4K. If you were doing pre-recorded video with it, being able to punch in without losing resolution would be nice, obviously. But for 90% of usage, 4K would be wasted...Razer knew this, which is why they released a 1080p camera while everybody else was scrambling to put 4K on their boxes. The Synapse software is...fine. I'm not a huge fan.

Like: Works out of the box. Camera looks great (reminds me of a pancake lens). The image looks pretty clear, especially in low light. Dislike: Needs installation of Razer Synapse in order to unlock full functionality. MSRP is too much of a premium (I bought when it was ~50% off). Doesn't seem to work if connecting to USB hub. My use case: I needed something for work to display myself. I also wanted something that would work well in low light. Other smaller cameras could work but I didn't care for the image quality or the "value" of them. I also tell myself I want to stream one day (hasn't happened yet and I don't think it will). Anyway, my initial budget was around $70 and I was going in the direction of getting a Logitech webcam, but seeing the price of this caught my eye. Although it was above what I wanted to spend, I rationalized to myself "if I spend a little more, I can get a $200 webcam for $100." I looked into this product and the consensus seemed to be this: if the price of this product were lower (than MSRP), then it would be heartily endorsed. Otherwise, it would be labeled as a "it's good, but..." product, meaning that the product itself is fine but the something about it (in this case, the price) makes people reserve their full endorsement. Setup itself took a little bit, mostly because I can be a bit of a Neanderthal at times. Once I got it working, the image quality was clear and it dawned upon that I ought to lose some weight. Anyway, this is a great webcam and I have not had a problem with it

I’ve had Razer Synapse downloaded before and it worked fine for my Viper Ultimate but when using this webcam (Kiyo Pro) at one point it would not recognize my camera. My PC even froze once. If this happens to you, try plugging in the Kiyo Pro in USB 2.0 port. Worked for me. Also discord and OBS recognized the webcam as “USB video device” rather than Razer Kiyo Pro. Go to device manager > click arrow next to Cameras > right click Razer Kiyo Pro > Update drivers > browse my computer for drivers > let me pick from a list of available drivers > click show compatible hardware if it isn’t checked yet > click USB video device > next and save it + restart PC. do this if you care about seeing the name “razer Kiyo pro” for the webcam. I didn’t see any performance/quality difference between each one so just a personal preference. You need synapse to use HDR and different field of views as well. I plan on just keeping my settings to one thing because I’m scared of synapse crashing my pc again lol. But other than the software issues, the quality of the webcam is great. Got it for $100 and I love everything about it. 1080p 60fps, HDR, autofocus, comes with their own virtual ring light for free (not that great but it’s free with the Kiyo pro so I’m not complaining). Would I recommend this webcam for its regular price ($200)? No. But for $99 it’s great.

The image quality is very nice and crisp even in the default setting, but with Synapse (Razer software) you can do a bit more. It’s Auto-Focus feature is great! Also Nvidia brodcast (free download) also worth testing, you get a bunch more versatility. Great for Zoom calls, Discord, you name it! Anything more would be overkill, especially for the sale price. The Mic sound quality isn’t too good at noise cancellation, which I need because my pc is on my desk and this easily picks up the fan noise. So I use my 2023 Blackshark V2 Pro as my input and it’s mic does an incredible job at noise canceling. In terms of stability it seems like it may be unstable when you mess with it in-hand, but when it’s sitting on your monitor, as long as you don’t intentionally pull it forward, it’s not going anywhere. Thankfully because it’s not clamped on there it’s very easy to move around, and it’s rubberized contact points do a great job at keeping it secured. I don't worry about it falling one bit. You can also turn it left or right (360°) as it’s on a swivel. Although the camera does not require a cover, since it has an indicator light, I like to have a peace of mind that it’s visibility is blacked when not in use. The included camera cover is very snug and not worth installing consistently, it seems like it’s more for travel/storage. Amazon sells a cover that’s much easier to install/manipulate it’s titled “LZYDD Webcam Privacy Shutter,” it’s a game changer at a very nice price, It flips up and stays straight up, but that’s the only con I could have—that it looks a little odd flipped up.

when i first stream on twitch these quality was really good

If you are expecting longevity this ain’t it. Granted I bought it in 2022 and at the time was streaming and doing YouTube videos. The picture quality was a big upgrade from the 20 dollar 1080p cam I had for work. Eventually I stopped streaming and ended up using it for work calls via teams. It began disconnecting from calls intermittently and the issues resolved when I swapped another camera. When disconnected and reconnected all appeared well but it wouldn’t last more than 15 minutes, uninstalled synapse and removed drivers reconnected and it worked for about 30 minutes but coming back it’s dead again. Camera feels warm to the touch. Might be overheating. Haven’t reached out to support but I doubt they will do anything and the process seems arbitrary. I’m just going to swap to a Logitech and likely junk this thing or post up used for cheap noting the issues. I also have a black widow keyboard that drops my pc audio levels. Taking this as a sign to divest from razer and move to higher quality peripherals.

Do not buy this camera. This camera became the bane of my existence the instant it entered my life. I originally bought this camera because it was marketed to be easy to use, plug and play. IT IS NOT. Here is the sequence of events: Recive the camera in the mail, the box itself had good weight to it, turns out 90% of the weight of the camera is from the mount. The camera itself weighs no more than an empty soda can. Plug in camera and open Razer Synapse. Camera is not being detected. Great. (I then try every single one of my other usb slots, 2.0, 3.0, 3.2). Nothing. OK. Restart computer? It's now being detected in the devices menu, but when I turn on the preiveiw for the camera nothing comes up but a grey screen. So I close synapse and go to google for trouble-shooting. Initiate trouble-shooting rabbit hole. I found out I might have the wrong version of synapse, so I uninstall it and reinstall Synapse 3. Restart computer for good luck. Open Synapse. Camera is popping up in devices *yay!*. Camera preview is working and I can see my beautiful face finally. I'm able to refine the settings and get the image to look pretty good, and enter a discord call to show my tech buddies my new toy. The webcam works for 3 seconds and then freezes indefinetly. More trouble-shooting ensues. I find out the webcam might need a firmware update. No problem. I do that, all is well. Restart computer for some more good luck. Camera preview in Synapse looks great. Enter Discord call, camera cannot be detected. Fine. You guessed it, more trouble-shooting. I find out that the discord application has webcam issues itself, so maybe I shouldn't be so hard on the camera and try to fix discord problems that are affecting the webcam. Touble-shoot that stuff and it doesn't fix anything. From there I test the camera in OBS studio, and Twitch. Same problems of either being hard to detect or freezing indefinetly. And now, I am here. Reading into other reviews, it seems like I'm not the only one experiencing these issues/similar ones. I really wanted to like this camera. It has a sleek design and was marketed to be convinient and easy to use. I also really liked that it connected directly to Razer Synapse. The camera also looks great for the couple seconds it works, giving me a taste of whats its capable of but not letting me have it. I don't personally believe I can do anything more on my end that I haven't tried multiple times over already to fix this. I hope my review can help you decide if you're willing to take on this headache of a webcam, or choose another brand like I will be.

This is a higher end webcam aimed at streamers who don't want to upgrade to a DSLR + Camlink setup. Most reviewers seem to agree that the build quality and picture quality of this device are top notch. However, the auto-focus constantly hunts and pulses the focus level and is therefore unusable. Razer released a firmware upgrade to address this problem, but a lot of manufactured Kiyo Pros aren't actually compatible with the upgrade, despite the software prompting you to do so, and are considered faulty by Razer. Other reviews mention the firmware upgrade bricking the webcam. I took a gamble and purchased the Kiyo Pro because I was looking for a higher end webcam that works well in low light situations. I only intend on using manual focus anyway. But out of sheer curiosity, I decided to see if I could upgrade the firmware. My device shipped at firmware version 1.03, indicating that it was manufactured a bit more recently. I was able to upgrade it to 1.05, which is the latest version. It worked! As a buyer, I would still urge caution if you're looking to buy this and you're dead set on upgrading the firmware, but I just wanted to write about my experience. I tested out the auto-focus and it still isn't great, but it's nowhere near as bad as what I've seen in some video reviews. It doesn't hunt all the time, but it seems to want to focus on my background instead of on me. Doesn't really matter to me, as I still plan to use manual focus. The picture quality is sharp and the colors seem very accurate with auto white balance. I returned my AverMedia PW513 for this and I'm very pleased. I chose this over the Elgato Facecam, which I have not tested. I spent hours testing the webcam today in different lighting situations, and with Razer Synapse, OBS and Google Meet, and I haven't had any issues (granted I've only had it for one day). I'll be sure to update this review if it ever poops out on me.

You are buying from a vendor who's not a registered reseller according to Razer. My camera stopped working after a couple of months, and I learn this is not covered under warranty because of who I bought it from, I'm assuming amazon can't help either but I'll try.
