Fox 40 Sonik Blast CMG Whistle, White/Red

I got this for safety as an emergency tool. I got several of them and I did a test with all of them. For what I want, it has to be easy to blow (a kid or an injured adult can do it) and really loud.I compared the ones that claim to be the loudest on hearth and there were two of them that were the best. The STORM Safety whistle and the FOX40 Sonik Blast... The STORM it's a bit big but definitely the winner. The storm has a distinctive sound because of the "pea" and sounds laud enough even if a kid blow into it. The others Whistles don't come even close to this two.I know the Storm has a smaller version called the WINDSTORM but I haven't try it... they say its almost as loud as the STORM but because I want the loudest and easiest... I just went with the big one. BTW I got two of the "ACME TORNADO 2000" because I though this was gonna be the winner ... and although I ordered one of them in Black (paid extra and I waited extra for it), it still it came in ORANGE anyway... :) that was great. I haven't returned any of them because I used both in my experiment...I thought one of them was broken because of how horrible it was... :) for safety get a STORM for everything else get the FOX40 Sonik Blast. I bought a number of whistles to find the one I liked best for general camping, hiking, backpacking, etc. signaling and emergency use. I found this one unsuitable for this category of need because: A. It takes a lot of air, so a child or injured adult will have trouble with it, B. It can only blown loudly, not softly, C. It's too shrill and strident.However it would be highly suitable for a female's anti-assault whistle. It's very loud, very shrill, very strident, very jarring. I would think that, in addition to being widely heard, it would have an off-putting psychological effect on an attacker -- that might give some attackers pause or weaken their resolve simply due to the loud, jarring nature of the sound it produces.

Great safety whistle. Checks off all the boxes of what a safety whistle should be. LOUD. No pea, so it doesn't jam. Easily cleared of water while blowing. Sturdy but light. And as an added bonus, the grips around the mouthpiece are easy to hold with the lips or teeth for effortless hands free. Own storm, acme, and a few others. This is the one that goes with me.

This whistle was purchased to support ground team search and rescue activities. You'd better listen to me when I say that you should cover your ears before blowing this to it's maximum potential. Because if you don't, you won't be able to listen to me later! IT'S THAT LOUD.The first test in the woods impressively returned echoes from multiple different directions arriving almost a second apart.Compact, light weight, great lanyard with breakaway plus adjustment slider, no moving parts, and insanely loud. Buy this and be the envy of your buddies.

I used the whistle for the first time today, and the lanyard broke apart (cord cannot be reset) at the safety disconnect, as i gently tried to wear the item. wow, what a terrible design: absolutely no what to prevent this design-flaw from revealing itself, and absolutely no way to fix or re-set it. simply said, it would easier to put all of the pringles back into their can while wearing two catcher's mitts. irretrievable crap.

No really, I have been around some pretty loud equipment all my life and have signs of hearing loss. Got this in to use for Search and Rescue requirements and tried it out first thing. All I gotta say is that I gave a few blows and was satisfied with the tone and sound level it puts out. But then I REALLY gave it a blow and immediately my ears starting ringing. Says it could be heard a mile away and I am not doubting that. Seems to be well made, minus the lanyard which fell apart before I could even put it on the whistle but that's an easy/cheap fix.

Perfect for me because I am disabled and our house is large and when I take a shower I have to bring my cell phone with me in case I fall I can call my husband on the phone and he will come running in and help me. Well, I fell, and of course the cell phone was on the counter where I couldn't reach it, I laid on that cold floor for a half hour before he checked on me, I was yelling for him but because my disability also affects my throat and I can't yell more than what a normal person talks he never heard me. We bought this whistle I can wear around my neck and never have to worry about laying on a cold hard floor in pain from falling again. Even when he is working, the neighbors can hear this, and the neighbors neighbor and on down the line, it is very loud!This would also be great for children who are at that age where they are by themselves playing outside, if they needed help because they fell and broke their leg on the playground or if someone stops and tries to grab them, this gets IMMEDIATE attention and everyone looking because it is so loud!!!So if you walk alone at night and need a little extra protection against that dark alley, its perfect for you!Also, in our area there are a lot of carjackings, I will wear this around my neck as I go to my car, it is sure to make someone run away due to the loudness of it and it will definitely call attention to you and have people (witnesses) looking at what is going on!This is also great for older people who live alone, get a couple for you and the neighbors, if you fall or need help, blow the whistle and they will come running. Be sure to inform your neighbors of the whistle and that if they ever hear it you need help!PERFECT GIFT FOR EVERYONE!!!

Lets just say for the past 28 years I have used one of these directing traffic almost every day I work. This whistle gets drivers attention faster than any other regular ball whistle I've used. One word of caution, hold your ears, this darn thing will hear your ears it's so load, I Love It! Also No Pea to Freeze in the winter time.

This is a bright colour and gives me the chance to stand out on the field! The protective mouthpiece feels comfortable in the mouth and the pitch of the whistle is ideal for louder events (I referee in football stadiums). I find this slightly easier to blow than other comparable whistles (Fox 40 classic I cannot get on with for example). I find this whistle allows a variation of tone, but doesn't 'die' out mind blow.

Brilliant - Loud - Dependable for all my Mountain Trekking

This Yellow/Black whistle was not as described. It is unsatisfactory.

Nice high pitch sound. Not great for open pitches but in side it is great
