I want to use this for (clumped) cat litter waste. Does the top seal well? Trying to keep oder down... Thanks for any replies.

Try BOS bags for odor issues (they're sold here at Amazon search "BOS bags"). Those things are outstanding for cat litter, diaper pails & poo bags for walking the dog. I NEVER smell anything from these bags and I keep the litter can in my kitchen. I know my answer has nothing to do w/ this trash can but I can't help it, I tell everyone about these bags. I love can't live without them. Hope it helps someone.

Amazon lists the dimensions as 10" x 7.6" x 12.1" inches. Yet the can is described as "classic round." How can this be? What's the *diameter*?

the circumference of a circle = 2πr {r = radius}. we know the diameter is 10", therefore the radius is 5". 2π(5") = 31.42". who knows what the 7.6" means.

Diaper pail users: 1 How has it worked with containing odor; 2 Has the plastic liner absorbed the odor, and if so have you been able to get rid of it?

I have been using this for diapers. 1. It's not perfect at containing odors, but it's acceptable for mild-smelling diapers (pee or breastmilk poop). It would not be acceptable for solids-eating baby poop. There is a faint odor near the can when it's opened even with mild-smelling diapers. 2. The plastic liner does get smelly, but it does not seem to absorb odor. A quick wipe down with a Lysol wipe has it smelling nice again when it happens (infrequently). I use this with plastic bags inside, though -- I don't use it with the plastic interior bin only.

does this have a slow closing lid or does it just slam down

Mine is slow closing. It's not super-slow, but it closes quietly without slamming. It's good.

Very poorly made

Very poor build quality. Had two so far and they’ve now both gone back. The pedal for the lid is often skewed off centre, which looks to be because the bin cylinders themselves are all pre-twisted. Serious quality control issues clearly.
