Q: Is this feeder meant for shelled peanuts or whole peanuts?

Grace, I just went out and double checked my feeder. We put in Suet Peanuts....soft, so that the birds can peck at them. The openings are not large enough for a shelled or a whole peanut. I do have a similar feeder that I'm pretty sure I could put whole peanuts in it. Hope this helps.

The seeds will get wet. But it really doesn't matter if sunflower seeds or peanuts get wet!

Q: Looking for a feeder for the bluejays... will this do the trick? If not, any other recommendations? Thanks!

For bluejays, I have found that platform feeders are their preferred place to come scare away the little birds and have a snack! They're not clingers and are picky.. or at least mine are! I hope you have some jays!
