Can this spout 40051 fit a red five-gallon eagle plastic container manufactured prior to 2009?

most likely. I have a very old 5 gal red plastic container that is faded so i am sure it is that old. The sprout does fit that can. I bought this spout to replacement those new spouts that come with containers now. The new spout spills easier than the old ones. That's EPA crap for you. The new spouts are crap.

does this fit a new style blitz gas can?

Kinda , one of the included caps fits perfectly when brand new. But after about 2 years I discovered that it doesn’t lock down like it did in the beginning. The threads all look fine on the container and the spouts nut.I’m just careful to check it and not to seat it all the way. Also the vent caps seem to degrade after time.

will this fit a 2 gallon gas can (plastic Can )?

Pls make it clear that these do not fit in my cars fuel tank opening. Needed to replace my gas jug cracked spout & can't use this.

There are some others that say extension spout with it. It’s smaller and should fit.
