I Love It!
The Developer's Reference Guide to Microsoft Small Basic is big and heavy enough to hold itself open on my desk without flipping shut. It will also look good on my bookshelf. A very handy book to have while learning to program this great language. Highly recommended.Your Small Basic books are great!

Good Tutorial, Poor Reference Book
The Developer’s Reference Guide to Microsoft Small Basic is not at all a Reference Guide, but a tutorial. It has no list of commands or objects (functions), nor does it have an appendix of key terms. The only appendix is a list of the names of 125 of the 140+ named Small Basic colors along with a bar showing the color, unfortunately grey-shaded to keep the cost of the book down. If you need to find something, you have to search page-by-page / line-by-line (roughly 400 pages). You may be able to reduce the search if you know what chapter it’s in.As a tutorial it is quite good, with many simple, well-explained examples. The order of chapters and examples are quite logical and you build onto what you have learned. The text is large and well-spaced for easy reading (plus giving you the feeling that you are making good progress, since the pages seem to fly by: a psychological benefit). There are also many pictures of the results’ output (again grey-shaded), so that you can check your own results. The example programs are also interesting and fun.To summarize: this is a good book to start learning Microsoft’s Small Basic, but it is not a reference guide in the sense of being useful for finding the format, explanation of parameters, or limits on parameter values for the many functions of the Small Basic programming language.

Everything in a nutshell.
A very good book for someone who wants to write well structured programs without spending long hours deciphering technical jargon.

Small Basic help guide
Looking for a nice language for "quickie programs" or learning to program? Microsoft's Small Basic is a free download, and this is just the book to tell you how to do more than write a "hello" program. It goes well beyond the basics and includes writing to and reading from files - very handy for advanced programs. The book's writing level is easy-to-read, and the examples are well thought out. A great addition for anyone using Small Basic.

The ESSENTIAL Developer's Reference Guide to Microsoft Small Basic.
This is the best reference on Small Basic I've found so far. It's well structured and easy to navigate. Unambiguous and no more skipping from chapter to chapter. Well worth the money. I've just finished a SB course and I wish I had this reference book when I started because it would have saved me a lot of time and effort.
