Really Nice Kit, But Read This Review Before Buying
Full disclosure, I returned this to Amazon for refund, but more on that later in the review. This is actually a VERY nice kit! I didn't actually install it, but I thoroughly tested its functionality and operation with a voltmeter, and everything worked flawlessly. Honestly, if you're not decently skilled with low voltage wiring, you really shouldn't be buying and attempting to install this kit. It doesn't come with any instructions, but (again if you know what you're doing) it's pretty obvious what goes where. The only thing you have to connect is the two wheel motors (which have color coded wires/connections), the steering motor (which is also color coded wire with a unique connector), and then the positive and negative to the battery. The rest is just routing the wiring harness around the car to install the accelerator pedal, power button, and gear shift. Even the wireless remote simply worked after installing batteries in it. The only part of this install that could be complicated is the steering motor. There really isn't an obvious way to install it, so it would take a little work and ingenuity. Although the steering motor is why I returned it, it wasn't due to the motor itself or even how it would have to be installed. It was because once you install the steering motor that becomes the only way to steer the car -- the steering wheel no longer moves. So once your child does get old enough to drive the car by themselves, the only way they will be able to steer it is if you remove this steering motor. Prior to buying this, I asked Amazon's Rufus AI if this kit allowed for remote steering as well as using the steering wheel, and the answer Rufus returned was yes, claiming the parent's remote control would automatically override the manual in-car controls, but when the remote control wasn't in use the car's manual controls were fully functional. Again, this simply is not the case, and when my granddaughter gets old enough to want to drive the car herself, I don't want to have to go to all the trouble to uninstall (at least) the steering motor. So, depending on what you're using this kit for, it can actually be a really nice kit! Didn't work out for me, but I felt it did deserve a 5-star review because of how nice and well put together the kit is.

Just what I needed but it seems to be failing after 2 weeks
This was somewhat the kit that I needed. Was a little disappointed that the shifter was not the “normal” connector but rather some type of circuit board connector. And the right wheel seems to be failing already. I don’t know if it’s the motor or the 12v module which is failing, but something is failing. The whining noise from the module is annoying too. Takes a long time to get up to full speed and the L gear on the shifter is no different than the H gear as well. I don’t fully regret the purchase, but wish the quality was a little better. Will be pulling this out and upgrading again to an 18v battery upgrade when my son is older

The board is short-circuited
The board is short-circuited. When connected to a 12V battery, smoke came out of the board and the board does not respond. It only turns off and on and so on.

Exactly What I needed 6v to 12v conversion. Mercedes SL400
I had found a Mercedes SL400 power wheel on the curb in my neighborhood. I been looking to buy one but people in my area wanted to much for a used one. Found it, did some RESEARCH. Before buying anything and this was exactly what I needed. I even bought the correct gears for the other motor as the car only came with 1 motor. I do have experience with low voltage items and how controllers boards work as I wire them on a daily basis. Set up was easy to understand even though it didn’t have instruction. HIGHLY RECOMMEND CONTROLLER BOARD OR LOW VOLTAGE EXPERIENCE!! In order to understand it all and how it works. Did a lot of small but major mods to the vehicle. But in the end it all came out looking just as when I picked it up. The only visible changes are the power button and the shifter that’s on the dash.

Good for conversations
I didn't use this exactly as intended, but it worked well for converting my nieces wimpy 6v ride on into a 12v RC that can actually drive through wet grass. However the included spade connectors didn't seat very well on the motors, but that was resolved rather easily, I soldered the motor pigtail to the motors. An added plus though is that it does provide a switch 12v plug for additional accessories (lights, sounds, etc). If using it for a 6v conversation as I did, pair this output with a 5vdc regulator and all of the original accessories should work just fine.

Great kit for old ride on toy
Found an old audi ride on toy on the side of the road. Figured I'd give it new life and replace the wiring harness and motors. Works prefect! Great kit.
