To repair ham radio feed line
Title says it all.I have a cable that probably got too close to the lawn mower.I have one that was shorted right out of the Amazon package.These were bought to repair those and for future use.Now for the nitty gritty.They fit! I stripped off the outer sheath all the way to the center conductor, removed some of the braid, trimmed the outer sheath back the same distance as the knurled crimp portion, remembered to slide the heat shrink tube, the crimp ferrule AND the nut.I used my handy dandy nifty Amazon hydraulic cable crimper to gently crimp the ferrule in place, carefully soldered the centre conductor (carefully due to some reviews that said the insulator would melt), shrink the tubing over the connector, and Bob is still my dad (he might be your uncle).I do feel a little disloyal to my friends I see at so many handsets and from whom I’ve been buying for decades.For the price, including shipping, hard to beat if you’re careful to assemble.Installation wasn’t much of an issue, but I’ve been working with such for 55 years and a ham for 49. I have some practice!
