HOW TO USE BELAY SHADES: Before heading to the crag, practice pretending to belay while wearing the Belay Shades in a safe, controlled environment. Go through the motions as you would at the crag until your are completely comfortable with the process. Start using them on flat terrain before graduating to uneven ground, unstable ground, or ground with gaps or drop-offs between you and the wall. Try to keep your head still for the first few routes while learning to use the Belay Shades. You will need some time to adjust. Like learning any new skill, take it slow and keep it simple. Look straight ahead. (Note: you may not need to stand as far back from the wall to see the climber.) While lead belaying, it is critical that you do not view the climber through Belay Shades until they've clipped into protection three times. In other words, make sure there is no chance of a ground fall before you view the climber through Belay Shades. Belay glasses may or may not be compatible with your prescription glasses or sunglasses. Do not look directly into the sun with Belay Shades as they do not protect your eyes from sunlight. Safety Note: The degree to which you are more, or less likely to notice loose or falling rocks, or other hazards using Belay Shades is dependent on many factors and may vary greatly from person to person. Only you and your climbing partner can decide whether the ground, any hazards, obstructions, stability of the rock etc. allow for the safe use of Belay Shades.

Good belay glasses that are comparable to the high end competitors
They are good for their price. I have been using them mostly on the big wall in my gym for about four to five days a week for the past month. I have pretty much gotten used to them, but the first couple of routes you do I would recommend using it with your partner being on top rope just due to the learning curve. They fit my face pretty well, but the retainer cord that comes with it feels a little iffy about how long it will up the shades. The only dislike that I have about them is that they tend to slip down my nose some because there isn't very much grip on the nosepiece. Other than that I say that these compare pretty well to the Belagoggles and similar high end products.

Good not great
I am not in love with these. They seem like a fine value as compared to other products but I would prefer a little looser fit on my head and thinner arms for peripheral vision.

Do Not Buy These Belay Shades!
Unfortunately, I was too busy in January to get a refund before the window expired. The FIRST time we wore them the glass just fell out of the shades and landed on the ground of the climbing gym, shattering. I will say it was great for those first 10 min, but because they were so poorly made, they were a terrible buy. Don't waste your money.

A bit heavy
They feel a bit heavy on the nose compared to others. Otherwise a great product for the $

Lightweight, comfortable. Still have to look up a little bit compared to some other glasses but serves its purpose.
