Scotch-Brite General Purpose 7447 Hand Pad, Very Fine Grade, 6 in x 9 in, Pack of 20, Aluminum Oxide, Surface Preparation, Scuffing, Blending, Cleaning, Maroon

We used this Scotch-Brite Pad at the manufacturing facility where I worked for 20 years. We used it as an alternative to sand paper for removing rust and various other stains and debris from the metal products we produced. I always thought they may work well in place of "Brillo Pads" or Steel Wool pads. One day I decided to look this up on Amazon and was surprised to find them for a very reasonable price. I ordered a box of 20 for around $23.00. This product, if you will, is the bomb. It works better than steel wool with a little Dawn dishwashing liquid and last longer to scrub dried on food from kitchen plates and utensils. As I mentioned there or 20 pads in a box and they measure approximately nine inches by six inches. I cut mine with scissors to measure 3 inches by 6 inches, This gives me 60 pads at a cost of about $0.38 cents each. We cut some of those in half to make a 3 inch by 3 inch pads. The 3 X 3 is what we call the "Nasty" pad for dried on food and it's easy to identify the "Nasty" pad from what we call the "Clean" pad, 6 X 6. I'm a stickler for clean dishes and run my dishes under hot water with one of the pads to remove any caked on food or foreign debris before loading into the dishwasher. Okay I know... you may think I have a suck a$$ dishwasher but I don't. I just don't want to clog the screen in the bottom of my $1000.00 dishwasher with dried on food crap. Kind of like the Cascade Platinum Dishwashing Detergent commercial you may have seen with the little girl that says "My Mom washes the dishes BEFORE she puts them in the dishwasher, So.. What does the dishwasher do?" Anyway, not only will this take the place of your Brillo Pad and not rust, it will clean counter tops, Make aluminum and stainless steel pots look like new again, and when old, will scrub linoleum floors like no bodies business. Keep in mind, this product WILL scratch some surfaces, non stick pans for example, just like sandpaper. Works great for cleaning potatoes before baking. Give it a try but be careful on certain surfaces. I recommend this product and have ordered three times.

I keep a stack next to the printer in my home office. When my coffee splashes on my white desk, I grab one, add a little spray cleaner, and the stains and pen marks wipe off fast, but the surface still looks smooth, not all scratched up. That part made me really glad I bought them. They bend easily, so during night shifts I wrap one around bed rails and stainless carts and move quick when we’re flipping rooms at 5 a.m. I toss another in my lunch bag and forget about it. The big pack means I split them up, a few in my work locker, a few in my kitchen drawer, and a couple in my home office basket. Kind of love that I can clean my sink and my desk with the same pad 🧽�

Mostly grabbed these for my home studio and garage, but they wandered into the kitchen fast. I first used one when swapping an intake manifold on my old bike, scrubbing off gasket residue from the mating surface without gouging the metal. Later that week, i used another pad on a burnt pan bottom and it cut through the crud faster than the random sponges we had. They’re tough, but not like a brick, so I can control how aggressive I scrub. For the price, getting a big stack that lasts through greasy bolts and dish duty made me reallly glad I tossed these in my cart.

Needed to remove fibreglass residue (white coating) - after doing some research it told me this was the stuff. Works exactly as the chap said it would - I used water with it. Its a big box, don't over order.
