Short answer: yes.Better answer: you only need this one specifically if you also need the 5v converter, 1A charging, and/or the smart load sharing (i.e. wall-power the device while charging). It comes with one but it is not soldered on.

No, this is just the board, you can find batteries by looking for 3.7 volt lipos

Yes. I am using my board to charge Adafruit 328 Battery (lipo 2500mAh). Micro USB port to charge the battery.
