Works like intended, i use it as a mechanical stop for my irrigation water. Closes slowly, but does shut off completely.I drain the reservoir for my sprinkler system 5 times during watering and this allows me to keep my reservoir on all day to re-fill.For the price it's definitely worth a purchase. Compared to the brass and copper float valves this is a steal. Can't see buying a 130$ brass float valve when i can buy 6 of these in my lifetime.

Like others' review on this float valve, I wasn't able to get it to completely shut-off. At best, with the 4 in float-ball 18" out and fully submerged, it shut-off about halfway. I could get it to shut-off when I pulled on the AllThread rod, but as soon as I let go water flowed pretty good. I wish I'd installed this thing sooner cause now I can't return it for a better (though more expensive) Robert Manufacturing float valve.

Great valve, have used these for over 11 years on hundreds of systems and it has been extremely reliable.

I have installed this unit in a 150-gallon water tank, in the closed position it does not stop the flow of water.To resolve the problem I purchased the larger float (no idea why they sell two sizes... just sell one that works..) HOWEVER, this did not resolve the problem. After messing with this off and on for time I should not be wasting on such issues I have a $60? into a valve that doesn't work and I can't return it...

Works as expected and is reasonably priced. Shutoff is a little more gradual than I expected however it eventually does shut completely off. Would use again. Do some planning for your installation to get the correct size rod and float to go with it.

The valve was just what I needed......the price stated $24 and some change, when the bill got here they ACTUALLY charged me $43.80!! Very Deceptive!!!!!
